Q: 1970 mustang?
I got a 1970 mustang with now engine, but i have a cobra 4.6 that came out from a 01 model.Do yall think will fit?
A: the 4.6 Cobra is a pretty wide engine and it will be a tight fit.
they did some modifications to the 69-70 engine bay to shoehorn in the Boss 429 with it’s special heads. You might check into that…
added: the 32 valve Cobra is much wider than the standard 16 valve 4.6 or any FE
added: I like the new 427w stroker, what a awesome engine ! sell the 4.6 and get one.

Q: How do I install my own AC condenser in my 1970 Mustang?
I have a 1970 mustang and the condenser for the A/C is completely smashed. I want to put in a new condeser for the summer but I don’t have much money to spend. I took a look at it and it seems to be pretty easy to replace but a friend of mine told me I had to charge it also. What are the steps I would have to do to replace the condenser myself. Thanks
A: Replacing the condenser is the easy part, make sure you have the proper tools, preferably mechanic’s tools. Pop the old one out and just simply slide the new one in and connect the wires. Next you’ll have to take your car to an AC mech shop and have them recharge your car with freon.(Hopefully your compressor is good). And also if any freon leaked out they will have to vac cum all the moisture out of your car’s compressor too. You’ll spend about $60 to $80 for this procedure.

Q: does anyone have a cheap 1970 mustang that actually runs?
i live in Riverside Ca, and im looking for a 1970 mustang that is preferably a mach 1, shelby or boss. does anyone have one that they would like to sell or know anywhere to look for them?
A: http://urlhawk.com/csf
- here’s a good website to look for real good, affordable and quality vehicles from official government auctions!
I bought my Honda Accord for just $2250 with a milage of 5,270!
And it’s been already a year I’m riding my car and it’s still doing well! I’ve recommended it to my friends and all of them are enjoying their used cars and have no problem with it!
Q: I need a security sysem for a 1970 Mustang. Anyone know where i can buy one?
I just finished restoring a 1970 Mach 1 Mustang and I do a lot of touring with it which means leaving it in parking lots over night. They are not exactly the hardest car to break into so i am trying to find someone that makes a security system for it. does anyone know where i can buy one?
A: I would get a motion sensor alarm, available at any parts store..
To be honest, I don’t think you are going to have it long if you leave it overnight.. there are to many people drooling over those cars..I would buy a beater to use overnight and lock that one up in a garage..
Insurance companies won’t even insure it if it isn’t locked in a garage overnight..
Q: How hard is it to put a new engine in a 1970 Ford Mustang?
I’m going to look at a 1970 Ford mustang tomorrow, It has a straight six with a three speed manual. I want to put either a 289 or a 302 in it, and possibly a four speed. Does anyone know how difficult it is to do an engine swap in this car?
Can’t afford to drive a 351, but I sure as hell wish I could.
A: It shouldn’t be a big deal, but be aware of the importance of transmission length when swapping. The driveshaft length has to match the transmission.
It is sure a lot easier than swapping engines and trannies in modern cars!
Q: What motor can i drop in a 1970 mustang coupe?
i know i can drop a 302, 351 , sorry for this newb quest. but is a 90’s generation mustang 5.0 HO motor a drop in for this car ? or does it need any mods to the engine bay? mounts? im tryin to keep the engine naturally aspirated but at the same time strong and kind of a resto mod engine look.or if you have any suggestions please help thanks
A: What do you think a 5.0 L is? It’s a 302. You could put a big block in there if you were determined.
Q: does anyone know what the gas mileage for a 1970 mustang coupe is?
im thinking about purchasing one but with gas at 425 these days its hard to determine how much money ill be wasting.
also does anyone know of specialized body shops in las vegas that can help you fix up and customize an old mustang?
A: As I remember it there were 4 engines available in the 70 pony car. The mileage will depend on the engine, driving style, gear ratio, tires and other factors.
Q: About how much is a 1970 mustang worth?
im looking for a good old muscle car.the other day i noticed a 1970 mustang for sale, it was automatic though. in great condition, it has all the original stuff in it. the owners were selling it for $4500. is it worth it, or does it use up a lot of gas or what? i dont really know much at all about cars…
A: There is a lot of information I still need to provide an accurate answer. For starters, what body style (coupe, fastback, convertible) is it? If it’s a coupe, is it a Grande? If it’s a fastback, is it a Mach 1? For $4,500–and being an automatic–I’d guarantee it ain’t a Boss 302 or a Boss 429 (Boss ‘Nines bring six-figure prices at Barrett-Jackson).
And, once you’ve worked out the body style, what engine does it have? Big-blocks add considerably to the value and the fuel consumption.
You’ll also need to take options and color combination into consideration. Air-conditioning is very desirable, as are power steering and brakes. A red Mustang is a much easier sell than one that’s Medium Lime Metallic.
And then the overall condition of the car comes into play. It might be a good deal at $4,500, but if it has significant rust or body damage, you might have to pay $4,500–or more–to fix it. Also look out for missing or incorrect parts, and do research as to how hard to find they are before you buy.
Of course, if you intend to “resto-mod” it, missing or incorrect parts might not be too big an issue.
Based on what little you gave me to go on, $4,500 seems reasonable, if not a screaming deal. Good luck.
Q: What is a “fairly” decent price for installing a “complete” 1970 mustang cowl panel?
I have a complete cowl panel (top and bottom) and need to have it installed. Whats a decent price for that job?
A: figuring at $60 per hour rate, and a good 10 day or more, with parts and paint it’s going to get close to $1000..
Q: I am looking for a good reference on how to install the backseat of a 1970 Mustang Fastback?
Is there a good website or diagam of somesort?
A: Fold down seat article was in the June 2006 issue of Mustang Monthly.
That’s the best back seat for your fastback!
Q: I have a 1970 Mustang Coupe, any suggestions on the paint job?
I am really wanting red with a black hood to go with my hood scoop (or just a thick center stripe on the hood only), and maybe a black honeycomb tail panel? Any other ideas?
A: for support, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/classicmustang
Q: how to make a 1970 mustang 800hp?
i was watching a show on cars and my favorite car is a 1970 boss 302 mustang. the car on the show was a mustang with 800hp and it beat a lambo in a quarter mile race. it went 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and i wanted to know what could i do to a 1970 mustang to make it do this? and how much do u think it wud cost?
A: If it has a 428 Cobra Jet engine in it – you’re already better than half way there.
The other half is basic stuff – stroker kit, blue print and balance, perhaps a blower, turbo or a good healthy shot of nitrous and hang on….
