Q: Where can i find a R34 Skyline for sale?
Even if i must import one that is fine, my brother works for HKS and we are desperately trying to find one. preferably under 100k. (links are valued)
A: You can’t import an R34 Skyline to the US.
I would make sure that Skyline in the Craigslist ad was imported by Motorex as those are the only R34 cars legal for use in the US. Any other one runs the risk of being confiscated.
The Automotive Forums racing team has their 550 hp Skyline GT-R racecar up for bids on Ebay. I dunno what the reserve price is. The bid was at around $27,000 last time I checked. It has exemptions for off-road use/racing purposes.
Q: Anyone know of up-to-date posters of Chicago skyline for sale?
I want the most recent skyline, with the 92-story Trump Tower in the poster. Can’t seem to find it. Thanks.
A: Will this do?

Not very accurate I’m afraid but it is the most recent I could find.

Q: Considering buying a 1993 skyline. Need to know what needs to be converted.?
I am stationed in Turkey and there is a ‘93 skyline for sale and i want to buy it but only if i can take it back to the U.S. Does anyone know what i would need to do?
A: Each state in the US differs to requirements needed ,This can make a big difference in the cost of mods needed and if you are allowed the car also,as not all states allow imports also some states require the car to be LHD which i have seen done to some Skylines but this isnt every state, also some mods are required on the safety aspects of the car again depends on its years also. The most common mod needed is emissions, this seems to be needed in every state .
This is what puts many young people off as money is tight when buying a car and if you are going to spend a lot of money on a car many people just go for newer cars.
Myself know that the cost is worth it for owning a decent Skyline ,but can understand when i havent paid that much to own the ones i have owned have cost a lot of money still but cheaper compared to IE US owners which would make future buyers angry.
Many US folks believe the Skyline is not allowed at all but again it depends where you live so check with your local gov transport office and cop shop to see if it is allowed and what mods are needed where you live.
At least you have saved a lot of money by buying the car abroad. And not having to pay agent fees.
As for parts in the US i wouldn’t worry there are plenty of parts worldwide and with the net its easy now and also with Canada having Skylines now many parts are there to have also.

Q: What kind Nissan Skyline is it?
Me and my buddy just went and looked at a skyline for sale locally, looks like its from the 90’s time frame. There wasn’t anyone there today to talk to but im trying to do some research to find out exactly what type of skyline it was. All I know is it had a marking on the back right bumper area saying 3 letters and I think the first letter was an H. I know this isn’t much info.
A: I’d say R32
Q: what does a proper skyline vin number look like??
im researching a skyline for sale and i have a 12 digit vin number. now i kno tht in the US vehicles have 17 digits. whats up with this picture? how do i kno from these numbers if this is a true skyline and not a replica?
A: That’s OK
Japan has different rules than the US
You can probably find out from various websites and forums about the skyline; I don’t know of any, though
Q: i want to buy a skyline?
i saw some nissan skylines for sale on ebay how will i know if they are legal or not and what makes a skyline illegal and how can i make it legal
A: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=105699
try this link for some info.
There are lots of Skylines popping up in the US i see many members on the http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/index.php
free forum these have models from the r32 r33 and r34.And the g35 which is badged skyline over here.
Also i was watching a car show filmed in the US and there where loads of road legal Skylines on there.
The best folks to talk to are prob the US members on the forum do a search on there and mail pm them.
These owners will give you the best advice and standards you need to reach to insure them etc.
To another answeer why would you have to change the wheel over ?and with what they never made the dash for the other side etc.
Q: is it worth buying a skyline or supra from japan? how much to legalize them?
i have a legit site right here
http://www.japan-partner.com/Auto/10352/Nissan/SKYLINE/car-for-sale.html
4 grand for this skyline theres better deals on there but yeah this is decent its left hand drive and everything and its 3 grand to ship to chicago
i got another truck so i can haul it home and piss my dad off even more…
this is pretty dumb….put a lot of time, money, blood, sweat and tears into this truck but…
i just got an offer on my 97 chevy silverado for 30 grand(has 502 big block, a bunch of other stuff thers around 30-40g in the car)
i was thinking of selling it and buying a skyline and modding it OR i can buy a newer model and sell it. i know there going for 50k+ over here and on there its 25 grand
or a toyota supra for cheap they run like 10 grand for a decent one 30 for a really really good one…i can prob get the 10 grand twin turbo one and fix it up a bit. make sure its running at 100% repaint it clean up the interior etc thatd only cost like 2k tho
its a pretty good scheme to get rich quick. i could be set for life no jobs, no worries
just alot of money from this…i have the money to do it now…and might not one day
now the prob is…getting them legal
i just read up on emissions and shit
so…if it doesnt have parts for emissions it cant be legal…idk..
A: I do not know where you live, but I can tell you one thing.
Japanese people take better care of their cars than anyone on the planet. Any car that is five years old will seem like new in every way but the smell.
The maximum speed limit in Japan is about 60 miles per hour and it is strictly followed. They are inspected twice in the first two years and service agreements are excellent. And the quality is exceptionally high when they are produced.
Right now, Japanese companies are doing very well by exporting used cars to Russia, Korea, and China. If you want to get in on the action, more power to you. There are tons of unsold used cars in Japan.
Good luck.
Q: Corvette Z06 TT VS Nissan Skyline GTR34?
My friend knew there are Left driver postion Skylines R34 for sale in USA, and he’s going to get one
I just want to know, if my Z06 Twin Turbo’s going to win or Skyline R34 going to win? Cause I don’t know ANYTHING about Japanese cars!!!
Oh yahhh… the main problem is that we’re both good at accelerations and pacing, so it’s up to the cars right? Please help me!!!
Only Haters will talk trash, so don’t say anything bad, cause $98000 is nothing for a sport car
Only Haters will talk trash, so don’t say anything bad, cause $98000 is nothing for a sport car
A: There are a few LHD R34’s out there; none were made LHD from the factory, there was a company in the US that worked with Motorex when they were still importing that converted like ten or something.
If the skyline is stock then the Z06 twin turbo will win… if it’s modified? Too tough to tell, too many variables… depends on what sort of mods, how the suspension is set up, etc.
Q: Anyone know a place where I can get a used newer year Nissan Skyline in the US?
I’ve seen a few for sale in Canada, but never any in the US. I wanna get my hands on one of these. Anyone know where I would be able to find one in the US? Or would I have to end up getting one Imported? Preferably used.
A: Well to start of you can only import the 1996-98 gtr or gts. second, you will have to have it legalize by a registered RI shop which i will give you a link for. finally it might not be cheap man you might be looking at a 20k thing here
http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/web_complete_RI_list120508.pdf
Q: Skyline GTR USA version restricted?
I know the Japanese version old skyline have no engine restriction for modification. So how about the new skyline that will be available for sale here in the U.S. 2008 -2009 GTR.
Will that have a restricted engine mod? or same as Japanese skyline spec?
A: There where some gossip about the US and Canadian versions having different engines ,but that was a while ago and no official news has been to prove this.
As for the Skyline name,i was talking to a few folks whom work for Nissan, and they said at the time ,(pre car show)that Nissan where unsure of the name for the car either the Skyline GTR or the GTR ,and where going to leave this up-to the country to choose, although it seems just GT-R is going to be the only name now, alot of this is due to Nissan not wanting the car buyers put off with the image of street racing and wanted the classy sporty image instead with this model. This is why many video test drives and write ups about the car pre Tokyo show refer to the car as a Skyline GT-R,as they where unsure at that time which way Nissan where going.
Q: Looking to buy a Nissan Skyline?
im looking to buy a used nissan skyline in the US, particularly on the east coast(so that the shipping charges wouldn’t be too high) and im using a site like this: http://modifiedcartrader.com/search/cars_for_sale/?searchType=quick&searchStr=skyline
but a thought dawned on me that some of these cars might be in the US illegaly. is there any way to tell which ones are legal? should i ask the owner( but then they might lie to me to just get rid of the car) should I look at the VIN ? how would I register a car like this? And is driving with and having the steering wheel on the right side of the dashboard illegal in the US? if i buy this carm, would i just have to tear it apart and make it street legal/emissions compliant?
A: Luckily there are a good few sellers in the US which will sell US reg Skylines .
Steering wheel wise with many mods and the car itself all differs state to state and many owners have been legal in one state and then illegal in another.
Common mods are emissions Other mods vary to headlights being altered and a steel bar to be added between the rear seats and fuel tank.
But again this does differ and some states may require the car to be LHD but this isn’t the same in every state. So before you spend any money find out what mods are needed to keep legal where you live.
Shipping wise the Skyline can be imported into the US easiest have been the spec 2 R33 which where crash tested by Motorex but other models are allowed again if you have them meet regs and this is within a 120 day limit and work carried out but an registered garage which can do these mods.

Has two US ones, although one is just as great and is a GTT version.

advice given from US owner.
Yes some come with US titles and registrations, I know for a fact the state of florida, as well as many other states, do not have strict emmissions or registration laws for imported vehicles, and you can get them titled and registered, and even insured easily. But if you EVER take it to a state that has more laws, they can catch you and report you, and thats bad.
eBay, Autotrader, and the like: (SCAMS):
the biggest scam i have seen to date with Skylines, is people posing like they own the car, and telling you to go through a third party escrow service to “hold the money for you” until “you receive the car” and then once you check it out, you “release the funds to the owner” deal complete right? wrong
they set up a fake escrow business that they say they have used for years and are a trusted company, you wire the money to them, and they can pick up the funds anywhere in the world in minutes.. no refund. so be careful.
number one rule about buying a car, is always set up a way to make sure its legit. pay in person, after inspecting the car IN PERSON, or send funds through a secured and INSURED method. always talk and make sure its legit. do carfax vehicle reports on vins, and with skylines, call DOT and make sure it is a legal skyline.
VINS on skyline look alot like this: BNR34-00132
Here are the Codes to decypher SKYLINE VIN numbers:

F = CA18
H = RB20
E = RB25
B = RB26

Details:
- Stock
- Full power options and AC
- RB25DET Turbo
- Original low kilometers and in pristine condition all around
How much do you think that could be sold for?
A: Totally igonore the person above Myself own my second auto Nissan skyline after being so impressed with my first one.
The term automatic is so vast as there are a mix of auto setups in a mix of different cars which all respond and act differently to each other so a Automatics are rubbish is impossible to say.
My automatic skyline is rapid foot on the pedal not even hard and the car is away at speed a manual overdrive button is added as well as if needed a power button which will give redline changes between gear changes as well as a snow button for winter driving etc.
This is def not a sit back and wait car but a hold on car.
The price depends where you live.
In the US i see them go for between 12-24k depending on engine from na to single turbo.
The car is an R33 spec 1.
If you need info and parts or even other bits for skyline or whichever car give me a shout as there are a mass of parts over here.
Q: is it illegal to drive a right hand drive car in america, and if not would the insurance be high?
i just got a deal on a skyline r33 for sale in japan, and it is dirt cheap, so i was thinking about buying it and importing it, but it is right hand drive and i am a little concerned about laqs and insurance, does anyone have any ideas about this kind of thing?, please help, it is the car of my dreams
A: Right hand drive is not the issue. There are a handful of right hand drive cars on the road in the US, mostly postal vehicles but some imported from other countries.
There are two other problems you will need to overcome with this particular car. Nissan never made any effort to sell the R33 Skyline in the US market. Consequently, it hasn’t been tested for compliance with federal crash safety standards or emissions.
There were one or two companies that somehow did get approval to import Skylines to the US; I’m not sure how. They may have had to crash test a few to get this approved. It is possible to bring an R33 over but it is not going to be cheap or easy.
Q: where can i get a cheap r34 project car from? does anyone have one for sale?
Im looking to make a skyline and need a base to start with preferably with an engine or most of
