Q: How do I negotiate the best price for a used car: Volkswagen Rabbit OR Toyota Camry?
I’m considering a used Toyota Camry or a new Volkswagen Rabbit. If I go with a used vehicle, there are so many Camrys out there, I don’t want to pay $14.00 for every Camry I look up on Consumer reports (which I hear can be done). With the Volkswagen rabbit, since they are new, how do I find out about dealer hold backs, rebates, incentives… and other ways to negotiate the best price?
A: The best way to negotiate a price is to know the value of the vehicles before hand. Check out the vehicle by going to www.kbb.com and enter the make, model, year of the vehicle in question and click on the radial button for “Excellent”, “Good”, “Fair” or “Poor” condition. The next page will give you a $ amount you should be paying for that vehicle. Of course this is a round-about-figure but this is a starting place for negotiation. Offer that price or some price a little lower (don’t get rediculouse) for the vehicle you are looking at. As far as a new vehicle (Volkswagon Rabbit), most manufacturers show on their website any rebates or incentives that are currently offered. Again, look at the kbb.com website for the “New” vehicle catagory and find out what other people are paying for the same vehicle and negotiate around that price.
God bless!!
Q: how do i get used toyota camry from japan?
i want to buy a used camry car model 2001 to2002 from japan.
A: It’s cheaper and better to just get one here. Unless you intend to go to Japan for a while and need a car while you are there.
The cost of the car there with all other expenses on converting to US specifications and shipping would not be prudent.
Q: How much should I pay for a used 2000 toyota camry with 80,000 on it?
How much should a used 2000 toyota camry be worth with 80,000 miles on it? Found a guy who is selling one I have interest in it.
A: A 2000 model that says 80,000 on the odometer has had the odometer ILLEGALLY set back.
It is worth 5 bucks since you will never know the truth about the mileage.
It likely had 180,000 before it was tampered with……
Q: I’m going to have a child and I want a different car. Is a used toyota camry a good choice?
I drive a 90 corrolla that has never broke down in 16 years so I think toyottas are good. But I’m thinking about safety as well. Is the Camry safe?
A: I grew up with a 1991 Toyota Camry. It’s a sedan so it’s pretty safe without it being obnoxiously big like a minivan or *shudder* an SUV. Anyway, it’s not just the car that makes driving safe, it’s the way you drive. Always, always, always, drive defensively. Expect people to do the dumbest thing possible in any situation.. because more often than not, they do.
Best of luck!
Q: How much should a used Toyota Camry cost?
The car is about 5 years old, and has about 40,000 miles on it. About how much should it cost?
A: It depends on alot of things. What shape is the body in, has the engine or trans been rebuilt, what features does it have, what does the inside look like and etc.
Q: Is it possible to buy a new or slightly used Toyota Camry with manual locks and car windows?
I just want to get it a little cheaper.
A: While it is theoretically possible to get a Camry equipped that way, it is very difficult to actually find one. Unlike some manufacturers, Toyota does not build cars based on a specific buyer’s order. (Unless you’re buying a huge fleet!) So you’ll have to wait for a “stripped” Camry to arrive at a local dealer, or have them check around within their regional area. Good luck.
Q: Would it be better to purchase a new 2009 Toyota Corolla or a used 2009 Toyota Camry?
The dealership wants to much for a new Camry but said we could get a used 2009 Camry with around 9000 miles on it. Which would be the better deal. Any advice, anything would be appreciated.
A: Both cars are nice – but make sure you’re getting similar option packages. A basic corolla has way less stuff than a basic 4cyl camry. Therefore you must compare a corolla LE with a camry CE and a corolla XLE with a camry LE and probably a corolla SRX with a camry XLE (and even that isnt a fair comparison).
I would note there is a size difference also. Depending on if you’re a single person, or a couple, or a family. I would use that to determine camry/corolla. Obviously the camry is slightly larger and has more trunk space. So if building a family in the next 5 years is something you are considering, probably smart to buy the camry.
That being said, the corolla gets about 5mpg better highway/city milage. If you’re on a tight budget and you worry that gas prices are going to increase, I would stick with the more efficient vehicle.
Currently I have 2 friends that own 2009 Corolla CE/LE and both are very happy with their purcheses. Since both are toyota’s I would almost guarantee they have top notch reliability and will drive for 15+ years. My 1996 camry has 270,000miles on it and I still use it as my daily driver.
9000 miles is nothing in the grad scheme of things. The car is practically new.
If I was in your spot, I would probably not get a CE camry. However, if an LE camry or XLE camry was the same price as a new corolla, I think I’d be foolish not to get the bigger “better” car. Plus new cars tend to have higher insurance.
Q: My newly bought used toyota camry is making a noise…tiktiktiktiktik after stopping?
I just got a 2-year old used car.Mechanical inspection went ok.
Car drives like a good camry. But after it is stopped it makes this noise tik, tik, tik, tik……………………
Is that an issue ?
A: No its not an issue. The heat shields around the exhaust system expand and contract as you drive and the motor cools or heats up. The metal they are riveted or bolted to is of a different thickness and cools at a different rate. It will do that for a few minutes after you shut off and will eventually stop altogether. It does the same thing when you fire up but cant hear it cuz the motor is running. No issue.
Q: If you had $12,000 to spend on a car would you get a used Toyota Camry, a used Cadillac or a used Honda?
Which model would you get and why? Give reasons; reliability, reputation etc…
A: You could look at the Buick La Cross or Lesabre They are each a fine auto mobil in luxury and driveability.Great gas mileage too.
Q: I have a new used toyota camry and the yellow dummy light that looks like a car with back lights shining is on
Can you tell me what this could be? All lights seem fine
A: That is the indicator that tells you you have a brake light out.
Q: I bought a used 99 toyota camry. How would i know what trim line it is as it doesn’t say anything at the back?
Also on the owner manual, it just says Camry but no info on the trim line.
I checked the motoverse website and it is showing 1999 Camry CE/LE/XLE.
A car cannot be under all three trim lines..
A: If it doesnt have power windows its a CE, if it does its LE and if its has power seats and alloy wheels its xle.
Q: How much should I sell my gently used 2005 Toyota Camry for?
It’s in very good condition, only about 20,000 miles on it – mainly in-city driving. Do you think $9,000 – $10,000 is reasonable?
Also, are there some good places I can sell it online?
A: hell yeah, i’d buy it if you were from around here!
lol i dunno where you’re from but around maryland/delaware you could probably sell it easily for $13k, at 20k miles? thats a bargain..
try autotrader, craigslist, any local want ad books you can find at gas stations, etc should be pretty good bets to sell on without paying much, if anything..
Q: What would my monthly payments be on a used 2005 Toyota Camry?
If I only put $1,000 down and I have pretty bad credit? The asking price is $17,000. FYI I will not be trading a car in either.
A: I’m pretty sure the point is moot because with “pretty bad credit” it is unlikely you will get a loan at all. Folks with stellar credit are having a tough time getting loans.
For the sake of argument, figure about 25.00 per 1,000 financed.
price 17,000
tax, lic 1,700
sub 18,700
down 1,000
amt financed 17,700 x 25.00 = 443.00 x 60 months = 26,580
maybe not a good idea as you’ll be roughly 13 grand upside down the minute you drive off the lot.
b.t.w. 17k is wayyy too much for a 4 or 5 year old camry. In the used car industry, these are known as “soft” vehicles. There are so many of them that they don’t hold strong value in spite of the fact that they are good cars.
Q: who сan export toyota used camry 98 to Kazakhstan? here a big profit margin is possible, I offer my services.
Here in Kazakhstan, Toyota camry, 2200cc 98 or 99 years, Mitsubishi Montero sport and Lexus 300 99 or 2000 is very popular. We can set a profitable business if someщту can send me these used cars from USA or Canada or from somehere else, I can represent you here in Kazakhstan , it will be really a profiable move,
A: IT WILL COST YOU ALOT TO IMPORT IT FROM USA! Get it from Japan.
Q: I am looking to buy a used 2007 Toyota Camry?
My credit score is 770. The car costs 15000. Does anyone know what my APR should be? I don’t want anything above 5%. Is that unreasonable?
The car is certified used and I am buying it from the dealership.
A: With that credit score, you should be able to get financing for as little as 3%. My cousin has a credit score of 720 and got financing for 3.12% from the dealership. You should definitely shop around for financing. I know banks and credit unions usually have lower financing than dealerships, but if you have an excellent credit history, the dealerships can usually provide a low APR. You should have no problem getting financing with an APR of 5% or lower. I wouldn’t settle for anything above 5%. Good luck!
