Are you looking for a used jeep? Check out the Trusted Automotive Market Place LemonFree.com

Q: What should I look for when buying a used Jeep Grand Cherokee?
I am in the market for a used Grand Cherokee 1999-2001 the ones I have been looking at have between 100-130k miles. What questions should I ask and are there any specific things I should look for on the Jeep? Does a laredo have less problems than a limited? Which engine is more reliable and has less problems?

A: Look for something other than a Jeep, like an Acura MDX or a Ford Explorer

In all seriousness though, transmissions in WJ’s (99-04 Grand Cherokees in enthusiast designation) go out in that range, as do differentials, transfer cases, and 4.7L H.O. engines. So the inline 6 will be much more reliable, and get slightly better mileage. This rules out the limited, as it comes standard with a 4.7, though not with the H.O. Oh, steering pumps get expensive too after a while, and figure 2 grand for a transfer case, three for a transmission, and you might get away with 1 for the diff. You will need to replace all three before you hit 150k miles – I have owned several of these vehicles, and regardless of how well I took care of them they all hit problems at the same point. Owning a Jeep is all about the adventure – and after the adventure, you might get to drive it some…seriously, mine have all spent over 25% of their service lives in shops, and all cost more than three times the original purchase price in maintenance (and I had Overlands, so that wasn’t cheap). When they ran, they were great, but that wasn’t often. If you still want one, get all the parts I mentioned inspected, listen for a humming or grinding when coasting as that indicates a bad differential, and listen for a humming when turning as that indicates a bad steering pump and possibly steering cooler. Oh, and one other nasty thing to watch out for – the rear wiper, when it goes, often bends and blows the motor – I have no idea why, but it costs like $250 for the part…

Oh, and my experiences were not all with the same mechanic, one of them I took to a dealer, one to a local chain, and the other to an independent shop. The independent shop was actually the best of the three, but it’s hit or miss with them, as Grand Cherokees have weird parts that a lot of mechanics don’t know how to work on (like aluminum differentials).

Q: What mileage should I look for when buying a used Jeep Cherokee?
I am planning on taking a cross-country road trip this summer, and unfortunately the only thing holding me back is lack of a car to do so. I’m thinking about potentially getting a used Jeep Cherokee, but am unsure as to what mileage is good? If I want to get across the country and back, should I go for something that has less than 100,000 miles? I need help! Thanks

A: its not so much the mileage its whether or not it was abused and if it was maintained properly. check for records of oil and transmission fluid changes. i have seen jeep grand Cherokees go 250000 miles and i have seen a jeep Cherokee that is a mail jeep with 350000 miles come in my shop. its all about the maintenance. foreign cars preach it domestics dont unfortunately

Q: How much do used ‘03 jeep wrangler wheels cost?
I have 5 used jeep wheels that i want to sell. There are 4 stock 15″ by 7″ wheels and one 15″ by 7″ spare wheel that i want to sell. No tire just the wheels. They are in perfect condition with no scratches or dents. How much would all 5 wheels sell for?

A: $100.00 or if you find the right guy maybe $125.00 …. for the whole set ………………….. put the advertising on Craigslist….

Q: What things to look for when buying used jeep wrangler?
What to check/look for when buying a used 5 speed 4.0L (tj) 1997-1999 jeep wrangler?

Like known engine/mechanical/cosmetic/etc. problems?
also are hardtops only used for security and are jeeps really broken into often with the soft top?

A: Nothing unusual or different about buying a used wrangler. Crawl under and look for signs that it has been used hard offroad – scraping or scarring on skid plates, control arms, axles, etc. Be sure to use all modes and ranges on the transfer case – take it to a dirt lot or sandlot and engage 2 HI (normal driving), 4 HI (never on pavement, sort surfaces like sand, snow, ice only) Neutral (Yes, make sure that works correctly too), and 4 LO (again, never on pavement, soft and rough surfaces only). Other than that make sure all gears work correctly, listen for any sounds from the engine, transmission, and axles while driving. Check all 6 universal joints – nobody ever checks them, they should be replaced every 3 years or so. Check the engine, transmission, transfer case, axles, brake system and hydraulic clutch for leaks. Make sure the clutch engages and releases smoothly and normally. Look down the body to make sure it’s fairly straight. Make sure all 4 tires are, if not the same, at least very close in size and tread type.

Hard tops are quieter and more weather proof, as well as more secure, but nothing is really secure and Jeeps with hardtops can be broken into as easily as any other vehicle. NEVER leave anything in it. Period, end of story, then you’ll never loose anything.

Q: Where do I find used jeep wrangler tops and doors?
I have lloked on ebay and craigslist and junk yards. Anyone know where I can find a good deal on used jeep hard tops and doors?

A: Doors: http://www.jeepthing.biz/pm/Wrangler-Exterior-Jeep-Wrangler-Doors.php

Tops: http://www.jeepthing.biz/pm/Wrangler-Exterior-Jeep-Wrangler-Hard-Tops.php

Q: Is it a good idea to buy a used jeep with a lift?
I am looking at a used 02′ Jeep Wrangler from a dealer. It is a soft top and the car seems to be in overall pretty good condition. I noticed that it has wheels and tires that are wider than stock and seems to have a suspension lift. The lights and stereo have also been modified. I am going to use this car as my daily driver. Would the suspension be something to worry about when buying this car?

A: I love jeeps, but unless you are planning on some serious off roading i wouldnt go for one with a lift. Just the regular stock suspension on a jeep is good enough to get you through the snow in winter and to do some basic off roading. Since you are saying as a daily driver a lift is something you really wouldnt need.
Problem with lift kits is that unless they are done right the vehicle might ride like crap. Parts might wear out faster. now if it has been lifted right by someone who knows what they are doing you probably wouldnt have any problems with it. If you do decide to go with this jeep just test drive it quite a while, try to feel for any unusual vibrations and to see if it rides smoothly. Get it checked out good by a 3rd party. Make certain they go over the suspension well.
Also larger tires and lift kits will make it use more gas.

Q: Do you know of a good used Jeep Wrangler in Florida?
I am looking for a decent used Jeep Wrangler. I want a 6 cylinder but would consider others. I am in the Orlando area but will travel for the right Jeep. I would like it to have a top so I can drive in the rain. I am looking to spend $2000 but will spend more if the Jeep is worth it. Thanks.

A: http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/cto/1024201044.html

Try craigslist, there are tons in your area

Q: How much would a used jeep wrangler cost?
http://www.suvexperience.com/includes/images/Jeep_Wrangler/2000jeepwranglersport.jpg

I am in love with this car.
Everything about it, i love.

how much do you think this would cost if it were used?
and what exact model do you think it is?

A: No more than 5000 dollars.

Q: how much does a used Jeep Wrangler Rubicon King cost?
does anybody know about how much a used Jeep Wrangler Rubicon King cost? or just about the average cost of a jeep wrangler thats used? it doesn’t have to be in the best condition. just so long as it runs nicely. average price?

A: Around 20 grand! No more than that.

Q: How much is a Used 2001 Jeep Wrangler SE cost?
How much does a 2001 or 2002 Used Jeep Wrangler SE cost?

A: you can find one with just under 100K miles for around $10-12,000ish. depending on how high of quality you want it. if it’s going to be a toy, you can find a modded one for about $10K and talk em down to about $9K. On the other hand, your looking at about $12K for a good quality, no hassle daily driver.

Q: how much is a used jeep wrangler?
i want my first car to be a jeep wrangler, but i have to come up with half the money so its probably going to be used. i just want a two door, two seat one, so around how much would it cost?

A: That depends on about 2 dozen factors. Making assumptions for about 20 factors or so, you should expect to pay around 11k

Q: I plan to purchase a used Jeep Liberty this summer. How Will I get the best deal?
Should I trade in my current car or should I walk in and negotiate the price I want without a trade in?

Also, there is a Jeep Liberty Renegade I have my eyes on that is listed at $14,900. What’s the lowest reasonable offer that I should offer for this and still be taken seriously?

Thank you!

A: You’ll get the best deal by not buying it…the Jeep Liberty was just named one of the ten worst vehicles by Consumer reports. Buy something that’s not garbage.

Q: How do I go about buying a used Jeep Wrangler?
I’m a 22 year old guy from Michigan and I have wanted a Jeep ever since I first began driving. I’ve saved up around 5,000 to spend on one. I’m looking for a jeep thats a 94 to a 98 with under 120,000 miles and in decent condition with either a 2.8 4-cylinder or the 4.0 6-cyclinder. I have searched for about a week and I have yet to find a good buy. I’m not looking to mod it into an off-road vehicle maybe a small lift and some larger tires but thats about it. My question is what should I look for when buying one and how do I tell what its really worth (aside from blue book value, there’s always debate on what the condition of the car really is in). Can someone give me any pointers?

A: First off, if you are having no luck in finding a Wrangler around your area, you can try searching http://www.autotrader.com . They have a listing of Jeeps for sale around your area as well as up to 300 miles away, if you are willing to travel. It would be a good idea if you have a friend who is a mechanic to go with you and check the Jeep out for mechanical problems. Although most Jeeps are pretty reliable, there are a few people who dog them to death when they have them. You should look for rust, oil/fluid leaks under the Jeep, look for any dents under the undercarriage (this indicates that it has been off road and may have some damage underneath), look for oil on the motor, etc. Always test drive a vehicle before buying. If it doesn’t crank or run good, don’t get it. There’s probably more trouble there than you are wanting to repair. Also, if the dealer says that you cannot test drive it, don’t bother with it, just walk away. Use your common sense, if it doesn’t look or run good, it probably isn’t worth your time.

As for the value of the Jeep, get as much information as possible about the Jeep before you buy it and do a little research, such as on http://www.kbb.com to find out how much it should be worth.

I wouldn’t buy from an auction. The thing with auctions is you don’t know what you are going to get until you have already purchased it.

Hope this helps.

Q: What is a trustworthy used jeep dealership in Seattle?
Looking too buy a Jeep Grand Cherokee 97-01, if anyone knows of any good dealers it would be greatly appreciated!

A: Buy from a private party so you get service records.

Q: what questions should you ask when buying an used jeep wrangler from a private owner?
i know what to ask about another kind of car but i know jeep are a diff. league of 4×4…
ok i have a appiontment this weekend to look at it and drive it..what is something to look for that a very inexperience person can spot?? how would you test it? examples?

A: Check the drive-train, transfer-case, u-joints. If the vehicle was well cared for it should not leak or burn oil. Older 4L’s tended to sweat oil around the valve covers a bit. But you don’t want any major drips from the rear main bearings. A good piece of advice I once heard was to let the owner drive while you are a passenger. If they beat the hell out of the car, you may not want to buy it.

They commonly rust a bit around the kick panels and window frames so look there for problems depending on the age. I had to put a new window frame in my YJ myself since the old one rotted out.

Check the extra tops for the Jeep if you get some with it, soft tops will wear out over time and start to tear.

Hope this helps

Q: How much will i get for a 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe 3 speed good condition?
I have a 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe 6 cylinder 3 Speed in good condition. I just got the floor, ceiling, and drivers seat redone.

A: Is it 6cyl. or 289 c-code. 6cyl—$4,000 to $6,000. 289—$5,000 to $8,000. good luck

Q: What is the best type of motor oil for a 1967 Ford Mustang?
I just came into possession of a 1967 Ford Mustang but have no clue about the car and wanted to know what the best type of oil to use on an older car?

A: A 10w-30 oil of your choice.

Q: Would a 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe be a good first car for a 16 year old?
I am 16 and I really want a 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe. It is my dream car. I found one for cheap and I really want to get it, but I’m not sure if it would be a good choice as my first car. So, help? [=
When I said it was cheap, I meant it as that it isn’t as much as most 1967’s would be.
And I understand that it would most likely take some fixing up. I am all for that.

A: I would have to say that it is probably not a good idea. The biggest problem you will have is reliability. Older cars were never as reliable as they are now, and being 42 years old is only going to make that worse. A classic Mustang that is “cheap” is going to cost you in the long run.

Get something a little more modern for your 1st car. There are plenty of years left to own Mustangs, and when you have more money you will be able to afford one that is in good condition.

Q: I am looking for a 1967 ford mustang?
I am wanting to buy a 1967 Ford Mustang. I am trying to figure out what exactly I am looking for. I want a fully loaded 67′. What options does a 67′ fully loaded mustang have?
I would only look at coupes. No fast backs, or convertables.
What does a 1967 California Special have for options?

A: Here you go.

http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/timeline/67-68/67/index.htm

Q: Where can I find a car shop in Los Angeles, CA that can do a ground up restoration on a 1967 Ford Mustang GT?
Im thinking of buying this 1967 Ford Mustang GT from a friend. The only problem is the car is a complete dust bunny!!! Nothing works and the body looks like its been chewed up and spat back out. Lol. But it is one of my dream cars and i have no problem paying for it to be restored…im just not comfortable shipping it halfway across the country.

Any suggestions will do. Thanx.

A: join this group for lots of help and suggestions,

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/classicmustang

Q: where can i find a turbocharger for my 1967 ford mustang?
i have 1967 289 ford mustang and i am lookin to buy a turbocharger for it..i have no idea where i can find one at…i know they make them..i need like a web address or something..thank you sooo much

A: I wouldn’t go with the turbo charger on a v8. I would go with a blower get better results.

Q: how to put a v8 in a 1967 ford mustang coupe?
im not sure were to start really.

im buying a 1967 ford mustang coupe and i want to put a v8 in it.

i need some direction on where to start on something like this.

any ideas?(:

A: You are lucky. Mustangs were redesigned for the 67 year/model so the big block engines would fit. That means any small or big block wil fit. (OHV only). The easiest way is to go to a junk yard and get all of the parts you need, engine mounts, cross member, etc. Keep an eye on that “donor car” because odds are you will have to go back a couple of times before the project is finished.

Just a tip, drill a hole through the hood hinges and into the hood web (not through the top of the hood!) then when you put the hood back on use these holes and two drill bits to align the hood. This will save much flustration.

Q: how much is a 1967 ford mustang gta worth?
how much is a 1967 ford mustang gta worth ? in general terms decent condition? please specify which currency you mean
cheers

A: While it’s a nice collectible it isn’t worth $100,000 U.S. as some believe. To get a reasonable idea go to http://www.nadaguides.com . Click on “classic” cars and then on “collectibles”. Depending on the body style, the engine, and other options it can run close to $30,000 U.S. The biggest thing though, with any collectible car is, “It’s only worth what someone will pay”.

Q: what is the best engine for a 1967 ford mustang gt fastback?
can i put a 4.6-liter SOHC V8 Engine in a 1967 ford mustang gt fastback?..
or whats the best engine for a 1967 ford mustang gt fastback?
tnx,,

A: FIRST THING-upgrade brakes!!! THEN- Depends on what you wanna do…#1-go computerized for best mileage with power, #2-do wheelstands every gear, or #3- GO FAST, burn gas! #1-You could put in an SOHC 4.6,*BUT* a DOHC would be better- you’ll have to install the engine electric, also( might as well use the tranny, too!) find a place to mount the computer, and make mount brackets(probably). And get dummy sensors for the smog If you wanna go brute power, #2-it IS (sorta) true that “there’s no substitute for cubes”( a big block/FE) but then, that’s just SORTA !-#3- I’ll put my 289 against an FE(or a 351Cleveland) any day!!

Q: Would you say a 1967 ford mustang is a good first car for a 15 year old girl?
Ive been saving my money since the week after my 14th bithday for the perfect car (or as perfect as you can get on a part-time minimum wage salary.) And i’ve got about 15 grand right now. My 16h b-day is in a few weeks and I wanna get a black ‘67 mustang. I already had my twin broter(he biult HIS car from scratch. It’s awesome) check the stang-in-question out. He says the car’s in good shape. But now I can’t help but wonder, should I really get this for my FIRST CAR? I mean it’s a pretty big deal and I don’t want to regret buying it 2 month’s from now. I guess my question is, do you think I should get the mustang? Have any of you had any expitence with a ‘67 mustang? If so do you recammend it?

Thanks in advance for your help.

A: Im 16 male that is such a badass car i was looking into old mustang to! But i live in Houston and dad finally made me realize how bad it would be. First a car like that is powerful and heavy and hard to control no power steering or anything. . Then gas is HORRIBLE. Repairs will come allot. Is it stick or Auto because if it stick Good luck going up ramps and such. and the worst reason no Airbags and its RWD unless you are a REALLY good rookie driver you are gunna slide off the road in rain. Its a dream car of many people but more of a collectors item Nice car when your 50 but not 16 But if you think you can handle it go for it

Q: how to remove a gas pedal from a 1967 ford mustang?
my mustang is missing the accelerator rod seal that rests on the firewall to prevent wind from coming into the car and i cannot figure out how to remove the pedal screw that holds the pedal on so i can replace it. does anyone know how to do it?
also are there any good places where i can buy a grommit for it?

A: much easier to cut the new seal and put it around rod and into fire wall will serve the same purpose once in place can’t tell it was ever split i did the same thing on a 65 falcon which is same setup.

Q: How much would a 1967 Ford Mustang GT 390 go for these days?
Its still has its original engine and its still in top running condition..
30k huh? Not bad, considering that the dealer is only asking for P250,000 (that’s Philippine Pesos, about $5,000)..Thought it needs a better paint job and the interior needs changing..Do you guys think its a good enough offer?

A: The 1967 Mustang big block is one of the most sought after collectible cars on the market.

It’s auction value will depend entirely on the option packages, the condition of the car and the originality.

The auction prices for a show condition original will start at $50,000 and could go much higher if it’s the right car at the right auction with the right buyers bidding.

Q: How much would a 1967 ford mustang 6 cylinder running fair condition sell for?
What would i get for this if i sold it. I bought the car for $2,500 and cleaned it up some. any idea how much it would run for?

A: 5,000 to 15,000

Q: How much would it cost to change a stick shift 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback?

A: Close to $2000 if you have it done… Restorods are very popular, depending how well it’s done will determine if you devalued it. A lot of people will tell you to keep it original, but it’s your car, build it the way you want..

Q: How much does a 1967 Ford Mustang cost?
A fastback, to be exact. My dad used to have this car before it was wrecked and always loved driving with him when I was a kid. Now I want this car for myself, but can’t seem to find it. I live in NYC, but am willing to travel for one wherever common.

But if found in NYC, where can I go for one, and what’s the average price tag for this classic beauty?

A: that is a very popular car, and even the beaters are expensive, a driver starts at $10k and up from there.. blame it on Eleanor ..

check all the classifieds and don’t forget ebay, even the parts section for parts cars and projects..

Are you looking for a 1967 mustang fastback? Check out the Trusted Automotive Market Place LemonFree.com

Q: what kind of engine would be best for a 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback?
ok. so im planning to get a 1967 ford mustang fastback in the future. I wanna what kind of engine would be the best, like for example i want the car to kind of like rock in place, like shake around. I dont know much about cars and engines, also, around hoe much would the engine cost? id really appreciate your guys’s answers.

A: I like for old school the 390 ci up too a 428 cobrajet. get a 500 plus lift cam, aprx 250 durration I have a merc 410 engine (390 bore 428 stroke) its punched out 30, running a 513/ 292 durration , dont remember the split numbers, it is running 427 ford heads, 427 long tube exhaust manifolds (cast iron nascar) lemans rods. ballanced all this and more in a 1957 ford f100. when I idle at a stop the entire truck shakes. im running flow masters right off the collectors. the 410 was fords special engine for Merc wagons for 2 years only. a little more power than a 390. with the performance heads etc. I estimate hp at aprx 530 and torque outragious.

Q: What’s the difference between a 1967 mustang fastback and a 1967 shelby gt mustang?
I want to know because I want to get one that looks like “Eleanor” in the gone in 60 seconds movie

A: The Eleanore was built from a Shelby GT500 which was built from a Mustang Fastback. So, you can get an Eleanor from either car — the Fastback would be a cheaper start.

Here’s one being done:

http://www.eleanormusclecar.com/

Here’s one for sale:
http://www.platinumrides.com/eleanor.html
$135,000…

This company will build you one:
http://www.classic-recreations.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=43
They start at $139,000

This company will sell you JUST the fiberglass parts that will then need to be fitted to your own fastback:
http://www.aeroformstore.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=93
$4,000
but you’ll need a Whole lot more parts…

Have fun………………

Q: where can i find a 1967 mustang fastback that is cheap and needs alot of restoration work?
i’m looking for one to restore myself. i’ve been to websites such as hemmings, but i’m looking for one thats 0-5000 dollars

A: In the Classified section in a 1978 newspaper

Q: Best restoration book for a 1967 Mustang Fastback?
I need a complete restoration book. All the way down to nuts and bolts. whats the best one?

A: year one.com not only get the book but any part you need.

Q: whats the difference between a 1967 mustang fastback and a 1967 mustang?
im looking in restoring one that has some body damage and no engine then buying my own engine for it if you have any tips i would appreciate it.

A: the fastback with the slope roofline is worth 3 times as much as a notchback hardtop coupe. be careful how much you get invested in a hardtop, it can be a bad investment..

Q: How much does a 1967 fastback mustang cost?
I want to buy one and need to know how much to save up. About how much do they usually cost? Like around what range? Where can i find one in good shape?

A: If you are looking for one go to a lot of classic car sites but finding a 67 fastback mustang that is working and in good shape can be costly if your lucky you can find one around $10,000 or more. Try autotrader classics they have a lot of classic cars and maybe your 67 mustang. Oh yeah and check out kelly blue book if you were wondering on the price range.

Q: Where can i find a 1967 mustang fastback restoration project?

A: I would recommend looking on ebay, or buying a magazine such as muscle mustangs and fast fords and looking through the classified ads.

Q: How much, generally, does a 1967 Mustang Fastback sell for?
The Car that im looking at is going for roughly 10k and is in what i would call fair condition, there are some rips in the seats but i think that i can fix those

A: Kelly Blue Book doesn’t take into consideration the relative/collector’s value of classic cars. A ‘67 Ford won’t have the kind of standardized value that, say, a ‘85 Thunderbird is going to have.

You might consider finding a collector (oftentimes mechanics will have a favorite car) who could look it over for you before you invest.

Q: Does anybody know what a 1967 Mustang fastback GT would be worth?
It’s a 67 Mustang Fastback GT 390 4 speed. It’s in restorable condition.
Do you know approximately what it’d be worth or a website that would tell me? I’ve searched and searched and not having any luck.
Any advice/help will be appreciated!

A: This site will help you get an idea what your car is worth: kelleybluebook.com

Q: Where to buy a 1967 Mustang Fastback?
I would like to buy one, something affordable, and I don’t even mind a beater that caould need some fixing up. Sites and suggestions will help. Thanks! =D

A: craigslist might help with that. But how much are you willing to spend?

Q: is it possible to put vertical doors o a 1967 Mustang fastback?
IF i did this i would either put gullwing doors or Lambo style doors on it. please no one tell me that im ruining the car by doing it cuz i am just askin so i know if its even an option
i ment Is it possible to put vertical doors on a 1967 Mustang fastback

A: Yes, they make a kit specifically for your mustang. $1450.00

This is a older Mustang, http://www.verticaldoors.com/_product_pics/tn-parts_ford_1964_1968_mustang_image2.jpg

http://pix.motivatedphotos.com/2008/9/16/633571851740216798-lambodoorssoplayedoutevenlambosdonthavethem.jpg

Q: I am interested in someday buying a 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback and wondering if anyone knew where to start?
Any information on where to look, things to keep in mind, or reasonable price ranges would be greatly appreciated.

A: You can check local papers, auto trade publications or even auction sites such as ebay. Price on such a purchase really depends on if you want to get one already resorted or if you are looking to do the project yourself. It could run you anywhere from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands just depending on what condition you purchase the vechile in.

Q: where can i find a new suspension for a 1967 fastback mustang?

A: at any parts store really most wil stock if not can order or type into search box
1967 mustang fastback parts
1967 mustang fastback suspension parts

most any parts stores can or wil have most

Q: what are the chances you were conceived in the back seat of a 1967 Mustang fastback?

A: I was conceived in the bed of a bridal suite on the wedding night.

Q: Where is the best place to sell my 1967 Mustang GTA Fastback?
She’s got 50000 original miles, relatively clean, and I’ve had her since 1991.

A: EBay, with a reserve. Put in a lot of good quality pictures & a thorough description.

Q: What should I pay for a 88 Jeep Grand Wagoneer on lien sale, its in near perfect condition?
The reason for it being at tow yard was the person did not have a driver license or have insurance for it. Is gray metalliac with wood paneling that seems to be new.

A: Well geographic region play a part in value. Where I live in N. Ca. , esp. with a bad economy, MAYBE 1500-2k if its really cherry. 800-1000 bucks for a nice one.
That’s a pretty good jeep, good luck!~Dan

Q: 1982 jeep wagoneer 4dr 5.9L V8 Woody Wagon quadratrac 4×4?
It needs a bit of TLC, but there is so much potential with this vehicle. The windsheild is in mint, not a scratch or chip on it, the power door locks work, and power windows, all 5 of them. 4×4 works great. it runs. It would make for an awesome bush buggy, or an excellent restore vehicle. Its for sale. $1000 Canadaian or Us funds. must pick up from Kamloops BC Canada. can send pics of the vehicle. Jasondj1980@yahoo.ca

A: This is gonna get yanked as an ad, which is disallowed by yahoo rules.

Q: will the wheels from my wagoneer fit on my gmc safari?
I have a wagoneer with 235/75/15 wheels and tires, can I put them on my 91 gmc safari has 215-75-15 inback 215/70/15 in front or if I swap tires to the gmc rims will they clear? the tires are goodyear wranglers and the jeep motor siezed the wagoneer body is excellent if anyone wants to buy it let me know, I have it for sale 400 in buena vista co.

A: Swap the tires to the other rims… yes… but the rims will not interchange from a Jeep to GM.

Q: does anyone got a toyota truck for sale?
i would prefer a 4wd auto. trans. in fair condition anywhere from a 80-90 model in the range of a 1000-1200 dollars i live in stewart mississippi
nature lover, thanks fer the info and i am willing to do a little fixin up to i like workin on trucks and what is a 4×2?

A: Toyota trucks are reliable, but expensive. I gave up trying to purchase one, because of the high prices. In the current economy, there may be some room to bargain, but the prices remain high. I ended up purchasing a Ford Ranger Edge 4×4 (4 L engine), which has been reliable so far.
Be aware of what you may get for the low price you are willing to pay, unless you are handy, and want to do some fixing yourself. 4×4 in a truck is a must, unless one lives in California or Florida. Be aware that 4×2s trucks are a lot cheaper, but they are “the worst Winter traction vehicles I have I have ever seen”. You will be stuck for sure. Good luck!

Q: Anyone have a older Toyota truck or Nissan truck for sale in Tucson Arizona?

A: http://tucson.craigslist.org/car/345802134.html nissan truck

http://tucson.craigslist.org/car/340081455.html nissan truck

http://tucson.craigslist.org/car/348451176.html toyota truck

Q: what are some good sites to find trucks for sale?
Ok so 2 weeks ago my parents went fishing, they left around 7 at night and were on their way back home at midnight when someone ran a stop sign and hit them going about 50
my parents were going about 50-55 and the excuse that the man gave them was that he “thought it was a 4-way stop” are you too stupid to even stop at a 4-way cause you think they are gonna stop too when you can clearly see that they arnt slowing down??????????

anyways the man totaled my dad’s pride and joy
he had a 1998, been in the family Toyota Tacoma, 4×4, 5 speed, ext cab, only like 70k miles, perfect running condition, well maintained, very nice truck, lifted, had extras on it, etc. and a nice bass boat that was easily accessible by my papal and my dad’s favorite out of all the boats he has ever owned.

Anyways they took the truck to be junked cause it was unrepairable but he got to keep the boat but its gonna need work and a new trailer—it landed up side down in a ditch cause the impact broke the hitch and slung the trailer around

my dad has been looking for a truck since the day after the accident and he has found a few he liked on craigslist and auto trader but we are running out of luck and my dad can not stand being confined to the house

Does anyone know of any good sites that have trucks for sale that are actually REAL trucks and not fake ads? We live in GA if that helps any. He doesnt wanna buy from a dealer either.

any help on sites would be greatly appreciated
mad jack:: thanks i never knew that about the rust, but my dad loves Toyota thats the only kinda truck he will buy, and he has been looking for another tacoma which i think he should try a ford maybe a ranger or something just to take him hunting/shooting in and do a scope around the property in and for pleasure driving but idk he wants a tacoma–he wants to find one just like his old one but its one away from being impossible since we have found one just like it but it has like over 160k miles on it and its also green–his was black which i think as long as its not a white truck (harder to keep clean) then he doesnt care about the color but the millage gets to him so idk what he’s gonna do, i would like to find one with in the next week that is a good fit for him cause their anniversary is sunday and it would be the perfect gift :]

Q: If we (Tax Payers) were not giving thousands of Toyota trucks to the Iraqi Army, would Toyota’s sales be down?
I see a non stop flow of New Toyota trucks from the Numi Factory in Fremont CA to the Car docks in Benicia. The Car ships take then to Basra for the Iraqi Army.

I drive past the car docks frequently and was first surprised to see ships full of vehicles leaving.(usually it is ships unloading and leaving empty) … When I checked into it I learned the Toyota trucks meet the Federal Buy America guidelines. So they can be given to the New Iraqi Army.
For all you made by Americans posters, look at the place.

People don’t build cars, it’s almost all robotic. They do have a couple Janitors

A: I hear ya amigo yet republican business practice is to sip profit between the cracks the TOY truck are 20% or so made in U.S.A so JAPS get big filthy blonds and lots of money in those contract deals for profit. sieg hiel amigo dino

Q: Toyota tacoma or dodge 2500 cummins?
Im looking at two trucks for sale a 2006 tacoma double cab sport 4×4 and a 04 dodge 2500 cummins crew cab slt 4×4 which do you think would be less costly to maintain which do you think would cost less to drive if i lifted it and which would would be worth more when i sold it?

A: You will likely see the same or better mileage out of the Cummins, especially with it being an “older” Common Rail 04. As far as longevity, the Cummins will outlast the rest of the truck, well beyond 250,000 miles if maintained properly. You can add performance upgrades to the Cummins and get 100+ extra horsepower just with a chip/programmer. That’s a whole different ballgame though. I don’t know much about Toyota’s but I can say that basic maintenance on the Cummins will cost more. The axles are larger, hold more fluid, the Cummins engine itself takes 12 quarts of oil vs 4 or 5 for the gas Tacoma. If you lifted either truck, it can be a draw on wearing suspension parts like ball joints and tie rod ends. The Tacomas are likely much smaller than the Ram, but it is relatively small and light compared to the big, heavy Cummins equipped Ram. I would expect the Ram parts to outlast the Toyotas anyway. You can fit 35″ tires without rubbing on many Rams with just a 2″ leveling kit, and some guys have managed to squeeze 37″s under them with no lift. Basically I would buy the Ram/Cummins. Diesels are in high demand and you will get much more when you go to sell it than you would the Toyota. Join a forum for more Dodge/Cummins research.

Q: How much should a 1980 Toyota truck cost?
There’s a body shop around the corner that is saleing a 1980 blue pickup. They say that they replaced the clutch. They’re selling it because they fix them and sale them. I’ve been riding the bus for 3 years.

A: I Think you should start looking round, the old 80’s Toyota’s are bringing more than the Early 90’s The older ones were almost all Japanese and far more troublesome, at any rate a thousand would be cheap for a good truck. The new clutch is the heart of it, well right behind the timing chain, you can tell if the timing chain is good normally by listing to the engine after a cold start, if there is a rattling sound when you first start the truck that stops in a few seconds, that’s a sign of a bad chain, But those two things are the heart of the 20r or 22r motors. For any 80 model anything i would go Toyota.

Q: Im looking for a Toyota Tacoma for sale in California.
A: Walker makes a great OEM muffler, sounds the same.

Q: What causes a 1994 honda accord to overheat at a light?
WE have a 1994 Honda Accord Ex that runs great, except that it overheats at a light or when just sitting. Driving is no problem, but sitting or idling – it overheats. AC is very cold but no heat comes out when turned on. We have noticed that sometimes the fans near the radiator cut off and sometimes they run. Is this an expensive problem or cheap? Thanks!

A: new radiator , or new fan mtr sensor ?

Q: What other car windshields are compatible with a 1994 honda accord wagon lx?
We want to replace a windshield on a 1994 honda accord wagon lx and we want to get a used one from pull a part, but there are no accords there like the wagon. So are there other cars with a same windshield like the accord wagon?

A: There should be!

Q: How do you remove the Chrome trim from a 1994 Honda accord?
I was just curious, can you remove the chrome window trim from a 1994 honda accord lx without messing the seal up?

A: Seek advice from a qualified body shop

Q: I have a 1994 HOnda Accord. Would it be qualified for the Cash for clunker government program?
I have a 1994 HOnda Accord. Would it be qualified for the Cash for clunker government program?

A: DCgirl,
The short answer is no. The proof is here: http://www.cars.gov/

Go through the menu options for your car. I did it. Your mileage is already too good.

The people that said the program is cancelled for lack of cash are not up to date on the story. It IS still going. They approved more money for it.

Some irrelevent comments while I’m typing: One of the biggest reasons to do this was to help the car companies. One of the funny things about that is – honda and toyota are getting as many clunkers as anyone, maybe more. Oh well. Not their fault for making good cars and managing their companies well.
If this program were only about getting better mileage, you’d qualify if you found higher mileage. There are cars out there that do better than an old accord. You aren’t eligible at all though – so that’s actually not the true motive behind the governments program.
If the goal were to clean up the air, it would be independent of mileage, and the really old cars would be eligible was well – but they aren’t.
This is a good program for people to get back some of the tax money they’ve paid in, but it’s basically just the government spending money they didn’t have.

Q: How much does it cost to rebuild a engine for a 1994 honda accord ex?
I have a 1994 honda accord with 235,000 miles runs good but i want to make it last untill 300k+.. how much would it cost to rebuilt the engine for it? it is a 2.2L 4cyl VTEC
I am in california.

A: About $3000. You would be better off with a Japanese takeout. This is a low mileage, used engine that will simply bolt in to replace your engine. That should be about half the price as a rebuild.

Q: How much do you think i bought my totaled 1994 honda accord back for from the insurace company?
my 1994 honda accord with 128500mls was considered totaled after striking a loose horse but i bought it back from the insurance company as a salvage, how much do you think it cost me to buy it back?

hint
number is between 0.1 and 1000 but id go low if it was me….

10 points to closest answer!!!

A: 250.00

Q: 1994 Honda accord rattling on the drivers side?
I have a 1994 Honda accord(4door) when I drive it it doesn’t matter if im turning or going straight i hear a rattling sound it seems like its on the drivers side in the back but i cant really tell…. does anyone know what it maybe?….. I’m guessing its the cv axle, if it is should i go ahead and change both sides or just that side?
If it is the heat shield where is it?

A: Most commonly the heat shield over the catalytic converter. I suppose it could be welded back, but most people tear it off and throw it away.

Q: I have to replace the cornering light on my 1994 honda accord and I need a bracket?
Ok So I need a new driver’s side cornering light for my 1994 honda accord. Before I install it I need to replace the mounting bracket that was holding it. I keep getting the name wrong is it the bumper bracket or fender bracket or something else?

A: Well the headlight and the blinker sit side by side above the bumper.
Another signal light sits within the bumper cover itself.
If you are referring to the one next to the headlight then you are in need of a headlamp mounting bracket because I think that year of Honda uses a unified headlight/marker light assembly.

If you re still perplexed visit the local Honda dealer and stop by the parts counter and have a clerk show you from his images.

Q: Can I do a front end conversion on a 1994 honda accord?
I want to do a front end conversion on my 1994 honda accord is it possible? If so where can i buy the kit at?

A: WTF U gonna convert it to?

Q: How to install 1994 Honda Accord LX back brakes ?
1994 honda accord lx, back brake installation – how difficult are they to install, and does anyone have a graphic of the composition of a back brake system ?

A: download a service manual here http://hondatech.info/downloads/Auto/Manuals/Accord/. 3rd one down.
It is not a hard job at all

Q: What is the average price for installing the following gauges in a 1994 Honda Accord f22b2 Engine?
okay I want a
oil temp
oil pressure
water temp
volt
air fuel
and a Tachometer
installed into a 1994 honda accord
What is the average price for installs? per Gauge?
Im located in Michigan as well.
Would like input from everywhere.
Theres a guy thats going to charge me $400 to install 6 gauges.
Is this a good deal?
He is a professional mechanic as well.
Please help with any ideas, prices, and/or referrals.

A: I have done a few of these before at the shop I worked at. And I thing thats a ok price. But not to sure because dont know what labor per hour is in michigan. And it wont be a simple task so I would go with that guy.

Q: Can i make my 1994 Honda accord into a 4 door car?
I want to install suicide doors on a 1994 honda accord 2 door coupe but i want to make it four doors. Is it possible for me to get the back doors done?

A: If I were you I would check with a well reputed Custom Body Shop – I would ask for recommendations in your area. They will need to evaluate the car and see if it’s possible – We can all tell you yes here at YA! but realistically a qualified Custom body shop would be able to tell you if they can really do it. You are also looking at around $8-10K to do something like this and remember they will have to perform any body work in any affected areas before they paint, otherwise it won’t be worth doing.

Q: What does F22B mean in front of 1994 Honda Accord Vtec ex?
i’m trying to rebuid the engine for my 1994 Honda accord Vtec ex. i know its a vtec and a 4cyl. but not much else. i was looking on ebay for a japanese takeout, but i have no idea if the F22B is, and i dont have the owners manual. How do i find out if the F22B is the correct model for my car?

A: simple,

F22B is your engine code, actually i think its probibly F22B1 if your in the US.

F- Stands for the Series of the Engine (primarily used in accords), 22 stands for 2.2 Liters, and the B1 just is a way of ID-ing it from the other F22’s.

as for checking the spec’s wikipedia.org is great for this, search there for ” honda f engine” scroll down and you will find the F22B1, or click here for the direct link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_f_engine#F22B1

its the stock engine for the 1994-1997 Honda Accord EX, which is a VTEC motor.

[wikipedia quote below]

F22B1

This engine was used in the Honda Accord EX and Acura CL 2.2. It was the first F engine to feature VTEC. This engine has a different head than the f22a6 (specifically exhaust manifold/header-pipe as well as intake gasket).

Specifications

    * Bore × Stroke: 85.0 × 95.0 mm
* Displacement: 2156 cc
* Valve Configuration: SOHC, 16 valves, VTEC
* Compression ratio: 8.8:1
* Max power: 145 hp (108 kW) @ 5500 rpm
* Max torque: 147 ft·lbf (199 N m) @ 4500 rpm

Q: How do I open up/fold down my backseats for my 1994 Honda Accord?
It sounds simple but it really isn’t. I can’t open my trunk at all but I need to get to my trunk in my 1994 Honda Accord EX. Theres a keyhole but I don’t have the key for it. An they don’t just fold down like regular cars I guess they need the key. Can anyone help me please

A: Have you tried using your ignition key in that lock? Some cars have a bunch of seperate keys, but mostly Hondas have just one key for everything (ignition, doors, shifter lock, etc.)…

Q: What size 17′ tire will clear a 1994 Honda Accord?
I have a 1994 Honda Accord and I just bought some 17′ wheels and I’ve been looking for a set of 205/40’s or 205/45’s but nobody seems to have any. Is there any other size tire that would clear? Thanks.

A: 215/45/R17

Are you looking for a subaru sti for sale? Check out the Trusted Automotive Market Place LemonFree.com

Q: Looking for 2005 subaru sti for sale? 15,000 max!!!?
Im looking for an sti for cheap please let me know!!! anybody

A: let me know if you find anything.. cuz im looking for the same thing. haha.

Q: Why are there more new Mitsubishi Evo 9 for sale than the Subaru WRX STI?
I am in central FL, and I notice that dealers still have several NEW 06 Mitsubishi EVO 9s. It’s much harder finding a new 2007 Subaru WRX STI, since they get sold quicker. I am a prospective buyer and would like to have some input on this.

Why is this? Does the EVO have other ‘achilles heels’ other than the dreaded premature clutch wear? Is the STI the better car for the street and occasional track? The EVO is praised in all magazines and people as ‘the car to have’, yet the Subaru STI is the ‘hard car to find’. Can anyone shed light on the subject? Thanks

A: Ranging in popularity between both cars its hard to make a choice, though i’ve driven both and I can make a educated guess at least.

The 2007 wrx sti model is fast, handles great, and can still take you around town while feeling normal, while when I drove the evo it was a totally different feeling, it was FAST, and had a bit better handling, but for a daily driver I don’t think i’d be happy with it.

The other reason that the 07 sti is going to be hard to find right now is because the 08 model has been skipped in preparation for a 09 model release of the sti, meaning that all those people who would have bought an 08 this year are scrambling to get their hands on the limited stock of 07 sti that are left over, not to mention many people find the 07 much more aesthetically pleasing than the 08 wrx (and in relation the possible 09 sti) causing a jump at that car.

I’ll put it this way to sum it up, if you love to take your car to the track or always out to play in it the evo is a great car, but if you’re a daily drive commuter with a passion for some offroad fun when you’re not busy the sti is for you.

Q: I found a 2006 Subaru WRX STI For Sale For $20,000 Should I Buy IT?!?!!?!?
Everything seems good about the deal, the only issue for me is the car hit a curb going like 70 and sheered off both back wheels, the car was Completely Fixed at the Subaru Dealership ($9,000) and runs fine now, It has 14,000 miles on it and Has Full Warranty 5 years 60,000 miles from Dec 2005. and Bumper to Bumper 3 years 30,000 miles. Gimmie some advice…….. I’m thinkin yeh…….

A: I say go for it as long as you don’t plan on keeping it much longer than the warranty period. That way you have documented proof the car was fixed “right” by the dealership and you should not have problems with claims.

Other than that, you might find out the car is completely fine in the next 46,000 miles. If there was a problem with strut angles (eg: camber, toe), differential compromising or anything of the sort it would show up in that time. Just realize you will not get much money out of the car when you go to sell it again with the major repair showing up on the car’s records.

Q: Are Subaru Legacy STi’s for Sale? In the U.S.? How much $money do they cost?
(Particularly) in California (L.A.)

Thank you.

~GeV

A: Closest thing is the Spec-B. Little less power but has the 6 speed tranny, Bilstein suspension and a nice interior too. And the power can easily be made up with some tuning

Q: going to buy a subaru and convert it to sti. need your help.?
Its hard to find original STIs in my country for a reasonable price. mostly due to gov tax. and even hard to locate a good subaru for sale. Most STIs in my country are conversion from impreza to STI. I have several options. I found a 96 WRX for sale. I could buy it and convert it to STI (I guess!, i dont know much about subaru models and specs!)

and also i found some 99 impreza for cheaper than the WRX 96. And I heard the local angent for subaru is doing conversions also!

96 WRX is more costly than the 99 impreza. what kind of changes do i have to make if im going to convert WRX to sti?

and is it worth going for the 96 WRX instead of the 99 impreza and converting it to STI?

Thanks in advance!

A: first off, going for the wrx over the imprezza isnt necessary, this is because you are going to be converting it to an sti anyway. in order to do this your going to have to swap out the engine for a 2.5L and swap out the transmission for an sti 6 speed. also you would have to upgrade the suspension, wheels, and exhaust, but all that does not matter if you plan on putting after market parts on as well. I’m sure their is some things i am missing but honestly, if you dont plan on doing all the installs yourself, youd just be better off buying an sti if you could find one because with all the parts AND labor, the finish price would be upwards of what an sti would have costed you in the first place

Q: How much does 2004ish Subaru impreza wrx Sti engine go for?
I was looking to drop the sti motor in my 2002 impreza rs. I dont wanna upgrade to the sti. Just want the engine but can’t find any for sale. Over 100,000 is fine with me btw. Just let me know where to get one and the price range if possible. Thank you so much

A: A full long block can be had for about $3500. You do realize you can’t just drop it in though. You need all the exhaust parts and intake parts and the ECU and wiring harness. Then you need to pull your dash and remove all the wiring and replace it with the STI one. I mean every little wire in the car. Or you can probably have it done for about $1500.

Q: 2004 subaru impreza wrx sti (Rev. e)?
Ok, now, I was told by a couple people over the internet that the 1st sti impreza model available for sale in the u.s.a was the 2004 subaru impreza wrx sti(Rev. E), which I believe is the one with the aggresive head lights, but yet, I’ve seen earlier sti models(the bugeye one), which I believe is a 2001 model. Can somebody explain this to me, and post up pics of the 2004 subaru impreza wrx sti (Rev. E)? Thanks.

A: The STI has been available since about 94 in Japan. We got the bugeye in 01 as an 02 model here in the US and the STI did first come here in late 03 as an 04. I’m pretty retarded when it comes to putting links so try looking through NASIOC.com. There are so many pictures of every model in every color so you should be able to find just what you are looking for.

Q: How could i find an old Subaru STI? Like a 1999?
I’m 15 and since all of the newer STI’s are too expensive. Is there anyway that i would be able to find an old one for sale. I really like them too. But i can’t find them and i think that if i do they will either have too many miles on them or they will have something wrong with them.

A: STIs have been made long before we even saw the first WRX here in the States. In the 1990’s, it was sold in Japan only until 1999 when Australia started getting them. A year later Europe started getting them. Here in he U.S., we didn’t even get a WRX until 2002 and the STI in 2004. Unless you live in Europe, Oceania, or Japan, you probably won’t find a 1999 STI.

Q: 11,500 for a 2006 Subaru STI?? 38,000 miles. To good to be true?
This guy is offering to sell me a 2006 subaru impreza wrx sti for 11,500 because he needs to get rid of it to pay off loans, he aslo has many other cars for sale at very good deals. Only problem is i wont be able to see the actual car untill after hes shipped it to me, but i have seen pictures and it looks fine with no problems and he says the car runs perfect. Should i jump on it or what?
VIN number checked out on carfax and has 28000 miles, seen photos but not the car. should i jump on it or what?

A: I have one that i’ll sell for only 10K mint condition, i’ll send you pics. Just send me the money!!

Doesn’t that sound stupid?

Q: Subaru 2.5RS With STi Engine/Tranny Swap?
Where can I find one for sale?

A: Classifieds in NASIOC.com or RS25.com. While you are on those sites, do some research on the swaps. They can be done right for a good amount of money or they can be done to barely run. Some people even use engines and ECU’s that will never pass emissions in most states too so make sure you know what you are looking for.

Q: is there any subarus for sale in houston, TX? by private owners?
I want to buy a subaru Impreza sti and i was just wondering if there were any sellers in the Houston area

A: check autotrader.com

Q: STI jacket – present for a friend, what do you think?
So I was thinking of buying a jacket and a few shirts of something for a friend who loves STI and Subaru and all that junk who lives in America … and since I don’t want to deal with shipping myself, I decided I’d use Japanparts.com since they’re having a -10% + 5% discount points sale now, and I’ve shopped with them before, so..

http://www.japanparts.com/

So my question is – If you were a man in your early 30’s and were to receive something what would you like? (… and don’t say “a young 20 yr old girlfriend” or something, plz )
Preferably something on this page.. I would get him some parts or something instead, but i don’t know if there’s anything he needs

http://www.japanparts.com/db/partslist.php?dealer=&car=&middlesmall=4:29&maker=&volkey=&page=2

waiting for your answers..!

A: Some cool stuff. I think it’ll make a great gift and I think a jacket or shirt are better than parts. An enthusiast can be picky about what they put on their car so you need to be 100% sure it’s the right thing. With clothing or something like that, it’s usually an appreciated gift. http://www.subaru.com/gear.html?s_kwcid=TC|13583|subaru%20apparel||S|p|5574231775&gclid=CLPvyeCH6KMCFSE1gwodoiZ32g also has some cool stuff. Another option, while not as personal, is a gift card for an automotive store where things like oil or other maintenance products can be bought.

Q: Higher Mileage Subaru Impreza / WRX?
To own a Subaru WRX (not STi) has been a dream of mine.I have been looking for some used models for sale, I prefer the 2005 or older range.
There is currently an ‘02 model that im looking at, but according to the website, it’s got 107,250 miles on it…and its priced at $6,995…

Question is: Does anybody know of any higher mileage issues with the Subaru outside of general knowledge? The wife currently drives a Chevy Lumina that’s about 200k miles and still going strong, and is my only basis of comparison. Never owned a Subi.
Thanks

A: It really depends on the maintenance history. If maintained properly, there is no reason it shouldn’t last another 100,000. I had 110,000 miles on my first 02 and when I sold it, it still ran perfect. And it was heavily modified and driven hard on a daily basis so it was tested. But there is a risk in buying any used car so make sure you see the full maintenance record and make sure the timing belt was changed. It’s due at 105,000 miles and if it fails, the engine will be ruined so it’s important. If it’s in good shape, that seems like a reasonable price and the other good things about Subaru is, there are so many around and they all seem to share a lot of parts so used parts are easy to find.

Q: Howcome people who don’t make a lot of money can afford expensive cars???
I mean not really expensive, but around 30 to 40 thousand. My dad makes a good bit of money.. around 100,000 a year. He bought a mustang for about 27,000 and said it was expensive and that anything more expensive is out of our budget or something like that.

Yet, I have a friend who works at best buy as just a sales person who bought a subaru wrx sti brand new. Which I believe is around 35,000 dollars.

How can he afford something like that and my dad didn’t want to spend more than 30,000 cuz it’s too expensive?

Is virtually all of my friends money going to go towards the car?

I guess I’m just wondering what is a good percentage of income to go towards your car so that you can still be living comfortably?

A: Well, if he works at best buy, I’m sure he is currently not paying rent or a mortgage, and I’m sure he does not have kids, etc, etc. If the only thing he is affording is the car, then there you go… I bet if he had to buy a house he will not be able to afford the car.

Q: Which is better for me as a first car?
This question has been bugging me forever now and I just can’t seem to make a decision. I am about to by my first car, and I just can’t seem to figure out which is the best for me.

Here’s the info:
I am a college student, and after some serious saving, the unfortunate sale of my Limited Edition Subaru Imprezza WRX STi GT-RA after only driving it twice (popped a piston through the hood), and moving to Miami for college, I am in the need of a car.

My budget: Max of $35,000.
My grandfather is willing to give me $5,000 if I really need it but I’d rather buy it on my own.

What I’m looking for:
Something in the luxury sedan level, with sporty styling, and good performance.

Musts;
4 seats
4 doors
Airbags (the more the better)
Automatic transmission
Decent audio
Good gas mileage
Good trunk space (I play golf)
High Safety rating
Leather seats
Xenon headlamps

Luxuries;
17” Rims (better handling)
Parking sensors (would love)
Sat-Nav (I already have a TomTom)

I humbly ask for your opinions.
I have a love for speed and agility in cars. I’ve spent hours reading reviews and comparing and looking up prices. I do have some favorites, but I fear I’m not looking at the entire class.

My favorites are: (in order)
Mercedes C300 Sport-Sedan
Audi A4
BMW 3-series
Volvo S40

I have been driving for about 5 years now, so I know my way around a car.

A: I’d get a BMW Those are HOTTTTT!!!

Are you looking for a 1998 chevy silverado? Check out the Trusted Automotive Market Place LemonFree.com

Q: What would help me increase my MPG in a 1998 chevy silverado?
I have a 1998 chevy silverado with a flomaster exhaust and stock everything else. I am curious as to any other ways to increase MPG. Any cold air intakes, superchips, mass air flow sensors. I need some advice from some people who have some experience in this. Any help would be appreciated.

A: you’ll have a hard time finding anything to give you better mileage, driving habits will give you the best results

Q: How long does a stock 1998 chevy silverado transmission last?
I need to know how long or how many miles would it take for a stock transmission in a 1998 silverado c1500 to go bad. The transmisson as not ever been worked on there is 162k miles on it and i want to know how long will it take until it is shot. Approxiamently

A: well that really impossible 2 figure out unless your albert Einstein but it really depends on how much u drive it and how hard u drive it like off road and ect.

Q: What fuse is the “under the hood” light connected to on a 1998 Chevy Silverado?
I have a 1998 Chevy Silverado and I need to find out what fuse controls the under the hood bulb. I imagine it would be the same fuse as one in a 1997 or 1996 Silverado. The owners manual was no help. It did not mention this bulb in the manual where the fuses are listed.

A: I think it might be the same fuse as the dome light

Q: Advice needed for 1998 Chevy Silverado exhaust?
I have a 1998 Chevy Silverado with the 350 V8 in it. It already has a true duel exhaust system on it, though its not loud really at all unless your standing behind the tips. I was wondering if it would be more of a benefit to buy two new mufflers from Flowmaster or Magnaflow and if so which ones. Or if it would make much of a difference if I just put diffrent tips on the existing pipes.

A: I own a shop, and a couple of 350 (built) engines. There is a trade off between flow, and noise. The louder it is, the better it will flow. The Flowmaster Series makes several different mufflers that work really well, and one must determine how loud you want it to be. Also; If you have cat converters, then you may want to look into replacing them with some free flowing ones. Personally I think the 50 series would be a better flowing muffler for a truck than the 40 series. They also make an outlaw series that is made for race only applications. The Magnaflow Performance series are good mufflers, but if you intend to weld them in, then they are made of stainless steel, and won’t weld to regular steel. Hooker makes a very good muffler now, and they have very good sound. Unless you are talking about a muffler that is a tip, then you are only going for looks rather than any difference in the flow. DynoMax has good line of mufflers. They sound pretty good, but don’t flow as well as I like, and seem to make more back pressure than one might desire. Check out this:
www.jegs.com and search for mufflers. This should help you make up your mind as to which ones to go with.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

Q: Where are the 2 oxygen sensors located on a 1998 Chevy silverado k1500 z71?
Where are the 2 oxygen sensors located on a 1998 Chevy silverado k1500 z71? Specifically the bank 1 sensor 2 oxygen sensor location? Which is upstream and which is downstream and their locations? Thank you

A: Your 1998 Silverado has four O2 sensors, not just two. If you have the standard equipment single cat exhaust system you will have three O2 sensors before the catalytic converter in the Y pipe and one O2 sensor after the catalytic converter. The bank 1 sensor 2 will be the one where the downpipes coming off the exhaust manifolds Y together immediately before the catalytic converter.

On the 1998 Silverado V8 single catalytic converter exhaust system:

1. Bank 1 sensor 1 is an upstream sensor and is the O2 sensor on the downpipe coming off the driver side exhaust manifold.
2. Bank 1 sensor 2 is a downstream sensor and is the O2 sensor where the downpipes coming off the exhaust manifolds Y together immediately before the catalytic converter.
3. Bank 1 sensor 3 is a downstream sensor and is the O2 sensor after the catalytic converter.
4. Bank 2 sensor 1 is an upstream sensor and is the O2 sensor on the downpipe coming off the passenger side exhaust manifold.

On the 1998 Silverado V8 dual catalytic converter exhaust system:

1. Bank 1 sensor 1 is an upstream sensor and is the O2 sensor on the downpipe coming off the driver side exhaust manifold.
2. Bank 1 sensor 2 is a downstream sensor and is the O2 sensor after the bank 1 catalytic converter.
3. Bank 2 sensor 1 is an upstream sensor and is the O2 sensor on the downpipe coming off the passenger side exhaust manifold.
4. Bank 2 sensor 2 is a downstream sensor and is the O2 sensor after the bank 2 catalytic converter.

Q: 1998 chevy silverado is hard to start?
I have a 98 silverado with a 5.7L V8. It will start and run but it’s very difficult to start. I have to press on the gas a little to get it to go. I’ve replaced the starter and there is no check engine light.
The motor turns over fast enough but it acts like I don’t have enough fuel pressure but I checked the pressure and ohm’ed out the injectors. They both check out fine.

A: fuel filter? spark plugs? run a fuel injector cleaner through it. Is it not turning over fast enough? (since you said you replaced the started) check battery for that one. “It’s an American truck, that’s why” … man gotta love ’smart’ people helping out with helpful answers!

Q: Fitting a different console into a 1998 Chevy Silverado…???
I found a console out of a 2000 Silverado/Yukon/Suburban…Will it fit or replace my console in my 1998 silverado?

A: If the console is the type that runs from the dash back it will not fit. The dash is different, so it wont mate up properly.

Q: How much approximate weight can a half ton 1998 chevy silverado pull?
It’s four wheel drive. Needs to be an estimate at least. Thanks!

A: 7000lbs if you got a v8 and dont have alot of junk in the truck.

Q: how do i remove a heater core of a 1998 chevy silverado 3500?
ii need to remove the heater core of my 1998 chey silverado 3500 and replace it with a new one… can anyone give me the details on how to do it and also any diagrams you may have for it too… please help
i dont not want to damage my vevhile and chilton does not make manuls for the year of my truck neither does haynes
is their any way to do it without removing the dash
thank you everyone but does any have any pictures.. so i know what i am looking for

A: Remove the glove box to give you more room. There is a small plate on the under side of the heater box on the pass side. There will be 7 or 8, 7mm headed screws that hold it on, there is one hidden against the fire wall betwwen where the heater hoses come it. The core will be right there when you remove it.

Q: why is it sometimes hard to start my 1998 Chevy Silverado?
My truck sometimes tremble when I start it up! What casues it?

A: The fuel pump may be losing it’s prime, or the injectors may be bleeding down. Cycle the key from off to on about three times before cranking. When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter?

Q: How can I reset my ABS light on a 1998 Chevy Silverado?
I’ve already had it checked out, and there is no problem. Is there someway I can reset it? I know you reset the engine light by unhooking the battery and was wondering if there was someway t reset the ABS light also?

A: If the ABS light is on, then there IS a problem. You can try to reset with the scanner that was used to check out the system and scan it for codes, but it will return.
The code stored in the ABS computer is the key to diagnosis. If there are no codes and the light is on, then you may have an ABS computer that is faulty.

Q: What does a random miss fire code mean for a 1998 chevy silverado whit 5.7 motor?
I think the code was p0300, were is the miss fire

A: A P0300 OBD code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn’t tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are misfiring, nor why.You should have the dealer or local repair shop scan the computer to find the cause of this misfire. This code can set from a faulty plug, wire, egr valve and other areas of the emission system.Best of luck.

Q: How do you remove a spindle nut fro a 1998 Chevy Silverado 2500?
What size socket do I use?

A: If its 4×4 is a big one. I dont remember what size it is but its one that comes in the standard sets you can buy. Sometimes you need the ones made for axle nuts with the thinner side wall to fit in the recess. Standard sockets that big tend to have fairly thick sidewalls and sometimes dont fit.

Q: What is the torque specs on an intake manifold of a 1998 chevy silverado?

A: depends on the engine the 4.3 , 5.0 and 5.7 show 35 ft. lbs and the 7.3 shows 30 ft lbs there is also a torque sequence as well

Q: my 1998 chevy silverado makes a grinding sound when i turn left or right when the 4×4 is engaged.whats up?
it doesnt make a sound when i go straight and its fine when im in 2×4.i suspect that its slipping somehow.how do i correct it?

A: check your power steering fluid if not its just a classic pos chevy

Are you looking for a 1962 chevy impala? Check out the Trusted Automotive Market Place LemonFree.com

Q: Looking to replace the head liner in a 1962 chevy impala 2 dr coupe?
I am redoing the interior of my classic 62 impala. Looking for tips on headliner replacement. I did purchace the kit now i am ready to install. Should I put some kind of insulation before i go on.I’m concerned that condesate will occure and rust will drip and bleed threw linner.

A: condensation does not happen there and if you have looked all ready you will see the they didn’t put anything there back when it was first built.
why you ask, one cause it is not a place that condensation builds up at and two the headliner breaths.
i do about 3 headliners a year here and have never had one come back because of condensation.
the only tip i can give is have me do it lol, no when your doing this job it makes it alot easier to have some one help you when your tightening it the ends up, and pull it tight on both sides and look at it, see just how much extra liner there is and even it out, then use alittle (alittle) super glue just on the parts the over lap, as this will help you keep it in place when you put the rubber trim on that holds it in place.
and JCWhitney has all the tools for this job and the headliner with a few choices of what kind of liner you want to put in, just go to jcwhitney.com or call em at 1-800-529-4486
good luck with your job on this one take your time and it will come out looking great…

Q: how do you remove an ignition switch from a 1962 chevy impala?
i know that there is a threded trim ring but it doesn’t pass over the key slot. i also noticed a small pin hole and tried a paper clip thinking it whould rlease the tumbler but i can’t get it to release.

A: If you have a working key…turn it to acc. Use a paper clip or any stiff wire. Push the wire into the poke hole and keep turning to the left. it will release the cylinder and you can pull it out.

Q: does any one know where i can find a 1962 chevy impala in good condition for a reasonable price?
hi im obbsesses wit 64 impala and 62 impala but right now im lookin for a 62 impala and if any one knows where i can find a good lookin not perfect but at least ok condition for a reasonable price please let me know! thnx

A: there are a lot of car trader magazines for sale at the store. you also can try many web sites, like ebay or craigslist.

Q: Why doesnt my heater or defrost blow warm air in my 1962 chevy impala?
I THOUGHT THAT IT MIGHT BE THE CORE SO I PERCHASED ONE AND JUST THOUGHT IDE CHECK BEFORE PUTTING IT ON, BECAUSE THE PAPERWORK THAT CAME WITH IT SAID IT WAS FOR COOLING SYSTEM, THAT JUST SEEMED A LITTLE OFF TO ME.

A: Ahhh a 62 chev. question. Great cars of there time. Best heater in the world. Well if your heater is working that is. Be sure to lube the lever lines up. Check under dash to be sure the tubes are still hooked up. Some times those cars the blower tubes would fall off. Also be sure that your lever is working fine. Have fun with the car.

Q: What is the overall length of a 1962 Chevy Impala?

A: 210.501 in, or 5346.7 mm.
Rougly speaking.

Q: How to remove Auto body trim off a 1962 chevy impala?
I am restoreing a 1962 Chevy Impala two dr coupe.
I am not sure how to remove the crome trim along the top edge of the doors where the rubber seals against the glass. Also the one that goes around the rear glass.
I did purchase shop, service and assembly manuals but none go into to much detail for this or the pages are almost impossible to read. I am worried about prying them off, I don’t want to wreck them. They are in great shape and we all know how much this stuff cost to replace. I bought all new seals for entire car and want to prep car for paint.
Hope some one can help……..Thanks

A:
OK, ya found an old fart that’s been working on cars since 1958.
1st the rear window mldg. You need a tool called a window mldg.
tool which looks like a flat arrow with a handle.you can pick one up
at auto parts store for a few bucks.First you should tape the glass
right next to the mldg.so you don’t scratch it.Then slip the tool be-
tween the glass & the mldg.& slide it along until the tool catches a
mldg.clip then gently pry & twist up at the same time. You should see
the mldg.start to pop up as you go along. There’s a clip about every
10″ Just be careful & take your time.2nd, The door mldg. If i remember
right i think there’s t-bolt on each end of the mldg. You should see a
small acorn nut on the inside of the door on each end.Take those off
and pry up on the mldg. carefully. It’s easier to do with the trim panel
off and the window down.On that back window if you get scared stop
at a shop that installs auto glass. they could pop the mldgs. off if your
cars drivable? Hope this helped you out? good luck!!

Q: I am restoring a 1962 Chevy Impala Station Wagon….?
Any advice on how to go about rust repair without spending a fortune??? It just has a little rust by the back window.

A: that little rust is a major problem from the location/thats like cancer and it has to be all removed and new metal put in/sooooooooo get ready/a little rust is likde saying oh she is only slightly pregnant

Q: where can i find a 1962-1964 chevy impala ss for sale?
for $ 8000 i would prefer a lowrider

A: the resale on those are outrageous, and your not going to get a lowrider ss for that amount, but here in oklahoma they are alotta buildable 60’s impalas for a fair price and they are complete, and most with just basic work will actually start and run although parked for 20 or more yrs.they do need resto though, but that is your price market.

Q: I need to find out how to get a vehicle Vin# info for a 1962 Chevy impala. kbb only goes back to 1987.?
my 62 Chevy has a 12 character Vin#. All new cars have 17. All the KBB info are for cars with 17. Where do I look to find my Vin#.

Q: Looking for a 1962 Chevy Impala?
This has been my dream car since I was 14. I am 31 now and want to rebuild it before I get to old. So where can I get a 2dr hard top, preferably a ss from for a reasonable price? It doesn’t need a motor or trans but I need a decent body. I am located in Arizona.

A: try ebay craigslist and any car sells books they have at the store good luck man that would be sweet too one one my fav

Q: is it possible not to have a heater core on 1962 chevy impala?
OKAY SO I ASKED EARLIER WHY MY HEATER AND DEFROSTER MAY NOT BE BLOWING WARM, MOST ANSWERS SAID HEATER CORE… NOW I BOUGHT ONE TO PUT ON AND NOW I DO NOT SEE ONE ANYWHERE ON MY CAR???:s IS IT POSSIBLE THIS CAR MAY NOT HAVE ONE?
OKAY I FOUND THE TWO HOSES COMING OUT OF THE FIREWALL, BUT THEY ARE NOT CONNECTED TO ANYTHING, JUST HANGING, SO THEY MUST BE BYPASSED?

A: usually hidden behind dash somewhere. read the manual!

Q: 1965 chevy impala or 1962 falcon which is better?

A: impala

Q: Which year Chevy Impala is just the smoothest Impala ever built and why?
Some say 1962,1965, 1976,and I say 2007 and 1963. What do you think?

A: 1963.The body line that ran from wheel to wheel was angled and looked perfect. When 1964 came out they made that line straight and it really took away from it.That’s just my opinion.

Q: How do I find celebrities to buy my classic car?
I have a classic car and I want to sell it, but I do not want to just sell it to any one because I want to get the best value for my 1962 chevy Impala convertable classic car. I would like to find a way to make contact with any celebrities that might be interested in my car.Thank you for your help. Mary

A: There are lots of people who aren’t celebrities who are willing to pay good money for classic cars. Don’t make your search for a buyer so narrow.

Q: What is the jar on the core supporter of the 62 Impala for?
I’m rebuilding a 1962 Chevy Impala and on the front of the core supporter is a glass jar and i don’t know what it is or what its used for.
I’m rebuilding a 1962 Chevy Impala and on the front of the core supporter is a glass jar and i don’t know what it is or what its used for. And it’s not the windsheild wiper fluid bottle because its larger and on the firewall.

A: The coolant bottle for the radiator. Peace.
