Q: How many mile can I expect to get out of a used Ford Escape?
Assuming it’s reasonlably well maintained when I get it, and I maintain it well. I would probably buy 2002 -2006. I want to make a taxi out of it.
Thank you.
A: I can’t tell you about the Ford Escape from personal experience, but it is a Ford truck, which makes it incredibly well built. I use ford Crown Victorias for taxis, and I get incredible service life out of them. One I currently have on the fleet has 200,000 miles on it. My wife’s Crown Vic has 367,000 miles on it, and my day driver’s taxi has 450,000 miles on it. Yes, 450,000. Original motor, original tranny. Change the oil, the tranny fluid, and the coolant on a regular basis; steam clean the engine at least three times a year; and fix whatever breaks quickly. You should have the same good results with the Escape.
Q: I want to buy a used ford escape 2004-2006?
what is lowest mileage i should look for, and what other things should i look for when looking for a used ford escape
A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carquotes.imess.net
Q: how much does a used/working ford escape trasmission cost?
I think it’s a 2003 ford escape and the transmission no longer works and I need to know where and how much it would cost to get a cheap working one.
A: Its FWD you might be able to find a cheap (relatively speaking) one at a wrecking yard the installation cost will not be cheap.
Q: What is the better USED vehicle? Ford Escape or Chevrolet Equinox?
Ford Escape or Chevrolet Equinox
Or suggest other of similar type.
Ok well base your answers on reliability and knowledge of these used vehicles.
A: My friend’s Equinox is incredibly roomy inside. People in the back seat have so much room you would think its a full size SUV. The stock basic sound system is good although some of the plastics of the interior are a little cheap. Also his rotors became warped but otherwise the power steering is so nice that you could drive with just your pinky. Brakes are good apart form the warped rotors. It comes standard with a V6 so it has ample power too.
The ford Escape is virtually the same car as the Mazda Tribute and I remember the interior being a little crowded to be honest and with nothing too great sticking out.
Q: What is the song used in the 2009 ford escape commercisal?
The commercial shows factory workers working on a ford escape, then some of them talk about their job. Also, it was used in the xplay season premiere commercial, and the E3 2008 commercials on the G4 commercial. I’ve been looking for theis sing for a while now, and I would really like to know what it is called.
A: If i recollect, it was a Gay supportive song. I think it was either California’s state anthem or Michael Jackson’s hit song. Either way, all three of them have gay in common.
Q: What type of automatic transmission fluid is used for a 2003 Ford Escape and how often should it be changed?
What type of automatic transmission fluid is used for a 2003 Ford Escape and how often should it be changed?
***2002*** Ford Escape
A: This seems like your other question.
The transmission fluid is ATF fluid.
Any fluid about a dexron mercon III is fine for that car.
You can buy multi purpose fluid ATF as well which would be fine.
But, you want to know specifically what kind your car wants?
Pull, the transmission dipstick out and and read on the stick, it well tell you exactly what fluid it takes.
Q: Can a 96 ford explorer wheel rims be used on a 2008 ford escape?
I have a set of 235/75r15 tires and aloy rims from a 96 Ford Explorer sport. can these rims be used on a new 2008 Escape. I would like to use them for winter tires so I just change rims rather than have to get the tires changed each season.
A: No,define’ly not.I’d better suggest you get the tires changed each season, although that maybe hectic.
Q: 2005 ford escape fuel mileage being used to fast but no leaks or engine light on please help?
i have a 2005 ford escape that is using way to much fuel does not have a leak or the engine light is not on but cannot find out what the problem is and the system checks says everything is okay please help
A: What is the mileage you are getting??? Sometimes the fuel you use will affect it as well, ethanol wll lower it as well
Q: Should I buy new or used? Ford escape hybrid.?
They seem to be hard to find and are priced on the high end for the new ones because they are in demand. The used ones are cheaper but usually have around 40 to 50 K. I don’t mind something used if it was taken care of but the next question on my mind is repair and maint.
Should I buy new to have the full warranty coverage or should I buy used and not worry because they are built well?
I looking to get feedback from escape hybrid owners. But if you got knowledge I’m listening. Thanks.
I’m buying to save money in the long run. I drive about 200 miles a day. I’m not totally green but it doesn’t hurt to your part also.
A: It is harder to find a pre-owned Hybrid Escape than it is to find a new one…. & even the new ones are hard to find!
Most of the time I would advise people to buy something “slightly used” to save a bunch of $$$.
However in this case even the used Hybrid Escapes that you might be lucky enough to come across are holding their value pretty well & are not a huge savings.
As for the reliability & durability, They have proven to be remarkable.
See:(old article so I’m sure that these 18 vehicles have MANY More miles on them now)
http://www.autoblog.com/2007/04/04/ford-escape-hybrid-taxis-demonstrate-durability-on-new-york-stre/
I have heard that NY city cabbies can REALLY abuse a vehicle … These have survived the abuse!
For those reasons I would recommend a New one.
Besides, the New ones have actually come down in MSRP since their release in 2005.
The sticker price is actually only about $4000 more than a comparably equipped & *powered non-Hybrid Escape.
http://www.fordvehicles.com/suvs/escapehybrid/compare/details/?vehicles=21514|21501|21516|21504
$4000 equates to about $80 a month on a 60 month loan & you will save OVER $80 a month on fuel costs!
My experience with the Hybrid Escape ….. I DOUBLED my Miles per gallon!
If you are driving 200 miles a day…. you will appreciate THAT. LOL~!
*I say “comparably powered” (in my comparison statement above) because the combined power of the hybrid-system is equal to the power of the V6.
The warranty on all the Hybrid componants is 8 years/100,000 miles so you don’t have to worry about working on them yourself. Nor will you encounter hefty repair bills.
Most Ford dealerships are certified to work on them & have no problems servicing them.
Besides all of the above reasons that I have stated, The Federal Tax incentive ($3000- for the FWD & $2200-for the 4X4) are only available to the FIRST owner.
There is one national lender (bank) that is currently offering low finance rates & a $1000 visa gift card to Hybrid Escape buyers.( I think that I cannot mention the lenders name because that might be considered ’spam’ here, but it is not FMCC… but many Ford dealers know about it)
There are also some state & local incentives available.
Doing your part to be “green” is actually quite a pleasure in a Ford Hybrid Escape!
Q: I am looking at buying a used 2003 Ford Escape. Any comments?
I was wondering if anyone could provide me some feedback on the Ford Escape. I have never driven one. The model I am looking at getting is 2WD, an ‘03 and 45 000 km on it. I live in Canada, and will need to have a good winter vehicle. The one that I am looking at is going for $10K, which I think is a really decent price. I have done some homework and see that this model and year is about $4k more going through a dealer. How could I tell if it may of been in a accident? I am not very car smart, and would appreciate your advice. Thanks in advance.
A: The Ford Escape is a great car. It seems that the one you are looking at is a good deal. I have worked sold Escapes and can tell you that not only are they popular but they are very reliable. As far as doing your homework make sure to check prices before buying. You may want to consider the 4WD model if you are concerned about the winters in Canada. Also, I would agree with others on here and tell you to ask for or obtain on your own a carfax report on any used vehicle that you buy. Another thing to keep in mind is that on newer models Ford offers a hybrid version. Another thing to research if you like a little more of a luxury feel is the Mercury Mariner it is the same basic car with a slightly different exterior and a more luxurious interior. Visit the sites I have listed here for more info. Also pay no attention to Mr. Personal Experiance above me here he can’t even spell Hyundai properly. Take it from an expert on cars that this is a great car.

Q: What do people think about the Ford Escape suv? New or Used.?
Right now Ford is having a special for 0% 60 months on all new ford escapes. It looks like a great small suv. The payments would be 300-400 range a month for a new one. The car insurance would be around the 70-80 range a month. Is it a better deal to buy new or used on this suv? Does ford have the 5 year warranty right now?
A: I’m not sure about the 5 year warranty but, my roommate has one with leather seats and it’s pretty nice. It rides good and the back seat reclines on one side which is pretty cool, to me anyways lol. Also its pretty spacious for a small SUV. She hasn’t had any problems with hers and hers is a 2006. I would recommend getting a used one though, especially with the economy the way it is.
Q: I want a Ford Escape, a used one?
What is the mpg on it? How much should I pay for an Escape with 30k miles on it, but not more than 50k on it? Thanks in advance.
A: My girlfriend’s parents just bought a new one for 20,999. It gets on average about 28 mpg…..better gas mileage than my Ford Escort =(
Q: ford escape used one?
im looking for a good first car. i like the ford, i would get a used one not a nwe. i was wandering though if the insurance was high??
if not this car , what other small suv would be good. by the way, im a girl so pick something cute..thnkss
A: Well since this is your first car I would just start off with something small because you have to think about gas, insurance, repair etc.
Q: How long should I expect a 2001 Ford Escape V6 to last me?
I am thinking about buying a used 2001 Ford Escape that has 150,000 miles on it. The body is great, interior is great, brand new tires, it is basically flawless. The engine is a V6 3.0L FI DOHC and runs great. Everything works. I was wondering how many miles I can expect to get out of this car, and what I should do to make sure that I can get the most miles out of this engine.
Thanks a ton,
Chase
A: It all depends on YOU. If YOU keep the car maintained and drive it responsibly then it can out last you yourself. If your not going to keep the oils changed and keep things lubed and greased and clean and up to date, and if your going to drive it like crazy then it wont last. Buy the HAYNES manual to that car and it will tell you when and what to check and when to replace everything. Keep a record for yourself so you know when and what servicing is coming up next. Good luck.
Q: What’s wrong with a Ford Escape SUV?
I’m looking at buying a used Ford Escape XLT (in New Zealand, not sure what the model is called overseas). Does anybody have the down low on this model. Are they any good? Looking at the 2001 to 2003 bracket, 3litre V6.
A: I have an 06 Ford Escape. I’ve had it for two years and its been a good car…I have had the water pump replaced twice…not sure if that’s a problem with all Ford Escapes or just mine, as I don’t know anybody else who owns one…but other than that its been great. The gas mileage is even decent, especially for an SUV.
